If you are doing the kids free bowling program DO NOT sign up here. Take them to River City Extreme in Monitcello. Huikko's only gives each person 20 minutes per day to bowl. They advertise that it is 2 free games per day (on their website) but there is no way to get two games in with that time limitation. I am about a 200 average bowling and it is a struggle for me to do that alone, not to mention having kids with bowling. River City Extreme on the other hand lets you bowl 2 FULL games with no time limit. which is how it should be. Furthermore, Huikko's started the 40 minute clock right when we got my daughter bowling shoes, without giving us time to get a bowling ball or switch out the first pair of shoes she got because they were too big for her. We also still had to set up the computer on the lane with our names, which didnt take that long but apparently every minute counts here. I started a timer right when we hit "start" on the machine and we were cut off at 34 minutes. We were in the 6th frame of the 2nd game.
I expressed my concern for this to the lady at the counter and said that 20 minutes is no where near enough time for kids, espically if you start that clock before you even get to start bowling and she said there was nothing they could do. Luckly, I called River City Extreme up in Monticello and was informed about their full 2 games with no time limit policy. I thanked them and then called KidsBowlFree customer service number and a very nice lady on the other end who also agreed with me that the timed bowling of only 20 minutes is way too short. She was able to transfer my daughters account along with my paid account to Monticello, which is where we will bowl...
Read moreI’ve never had a good experience bowling/dining here. Either the lanes dont put all the pins down, the food is undercooked or over cooked or the staff is unfreindly. Our experience as of late was the staff. Ive worked in customer service and if i had treated my customers the way these people did my family would have lost their business. It was like we were annoying them by asking for service. Eye rolling, snickers, sarcasm… wth? I expected more i guess from a family owned and operated business that has been around for quite awhile. The female staff member sprayed our table down while my son was sitting there turned the opposite direction so he didnt see her. She didnt ask him to move his arm, or announce her presence…just sprayed his arm and table! Pretty mind blowing. My advice to the Huikkos family would be to educate your staff in faking a friendly personality if they dont have one to start with. We wont be going back. I would rather give my business to the other family owned businesses in the surrounding area that appreciate...
Read moreBecause of customer service - Huikkos Bowling is no longer running specials on Monday night for discounted bowling and drinks … their website states the opposite, “specials Monday Night..$1 games..” this was about 2 weeks ago and it looks like they did listen to me and have recently updated their outdated website . With that said, It was a lot a lot of work to bring my dad that evening and the younger “main” guy working - could care less. I tried to explain that their website needs to be updated - he didn’t care…just brushed me off as he walked away - so I tried to explained how much work to was to bring my dad there to get him out of the house to watch (he needs assistance) and he didn’t care … never apologized or anything . I have heard from others that their customer service is bad and now I have personally experienced It. Wow!!! ;( I hope they listen to their customers - take this review to heart and learn from their customers. Customers will come back with...
