Excellent food, terrible service! There were literally only 2 other people in the place. The waitress never smiled. We both ordered scallop/shrimp hibachi. She assumed we wanted soup, I had to call her back (she walked away without offering us the options) to request salad instead. After I told her I wanted fried rice she assumed my companion did too, she never asked what kind of rice she wanted. We asked for shrimp tempura for an appetizer and had a long conversation about how they don't do that. We're trying to spend money here, she wasn't helping us get what we wanted AT ALL. We ended up not ordering an appetizer. She brought our salads, set them down and walked away without saying a word. As she was walking away (she was always in a very big rush to get away from our table!) I asked if we could have some chopsticks. She said yes then went into the bathroom. When she came out I watched her for awhile to see if she was coming back with them. She disappeared. I finally went up front and asked the young man (very nice man) and he gave me some. She dropped off our dinners and said "oh you have chopsticks" and walked away. I guess she just wanted us to look at the salads when she brought them. When we were done, we asked for boxes and she gave us one small one. We had salad and 2 - 1/2 plates. We also needed 2 larger ones. She finally came with those. She dropped off the bill, never asked if we wanted anything else. We went up front to pay when she never came back for the credit card. Atrocious service. The 2 men that were in there were...
Read moreI’ll start off with the service, it was spectacular and very attentive. They did a great job. The menu was well organized and easy to understand.
Appetizer wise, the soft shell crab was not very good, it tasted like plastic and you can tell it was just low quality. The chicken wings appetizer were also not very good, it tasted bland and it had a funny taste. The miso soup and salad portions are smaller than the average Japanese restaurant.
Moving on to the entrees, the specialty roll portion size (I got the titanic roll) was smaller than expected but were very tasty.
I would recommend to come for their lunch deals, sushi combos or their dinner hibachi meals. Definitely skip out on the appetizers!
Too expensive for the low...
Read moreFinally Sushi in Buffalo! The restaurant isn't much to look at, but the sushi was fantastic! We went on a Friday evening and took a while to get a table and then we had to wait to get our food. The only reason I didn't give 5-stars is due to the slower than normal service but I'm cutting them a break as they are newly opened and most restaurants figure out their staffing ratios after the first month. On the weekend, be prepared to wait 25-40 minutes for a table. When you walk in, just get to the check-in/cash register area and add your name to the wait list. If you don't want to wait, either show up at 5pm or wait until after 7:30pm. Weekdays not as busy. Will definitely be back..judging by the business, we aren't...
