The best thing about the food was the price. Quality-wise, the food was lacking. I like restaurants to be better than my own home cooking. I typically want the food to be an experience, unless I am just looking for a quick bite. This was my first time stopping in, and with a name like "Aloha" I was looking for something that would say "hello" and not "good bye".
Restaurants serve two basic roles in my book: either part of the entertainment industry (think of that fun, date-night, place with food you both crave and rave about, telling everyone they have to try it) or part of the service industry. Like a gas station sandwhich that leaves much to desire. Sure, I have a slice of cheap meat, cheese, and bread at home, but I don't have time to stack them up. Food that is there simply to put food in the belly at a premium cost when you don't have the time or energy to do it cheaper at home. I was hoping for the first, at "Aloha": food to wake the palette. But, I think this place is the second: somewhere for people to grab lunch when they are on the go.
If you are short on time, and are just looking for an inexpensive bite, that isn't burgers, fried chicken, pizza, or tacos at the local fast food-eateries, then this place fills the role for those with the Asian-persuasion looking for some cheap, no frills eastern eats, at least until a cheap Asian chain restaurant moves in that...
Read moreI can't actually give an informed review. Never eaten there. Not for lack of trying... they always seem to be closed ☹ update ate there today. The price for my lunch wasn't bad, the wontons were awful, the rice was Bland, the chicken was really good! But the whole atmosphere is very negative, the door literally says closed no, no, and don't, before you even see the counter. That in and of itself almost made me not go in. Update: I forgot I ever reviewed this place, it has been years since I had considered going there. I drove by on my way to Wal-Mart, saw the open sign on, it says open until 7:00 so I was going to grab some food on my way home. I called at 6:41... no answer. Just a recording telling their hours, so I pull up at 6:43... open sign is off they closed early. Never again. That place is closed permanently as far as I am concerned. What a...
Read moreI've lived near here over 8 years and decided to try it today. Sweat and sour pork was one of the best I ever had.will never get meat wontons there again, almost nothing but wonton really no meat to them at all waste of money for sure.. was told there is no such thing as lunch on weekends. Rude, for sure! Was told I had to wait in my car outside for my food it would be brought to my car.(after I paid) only time I got a smile and good service is when I was handed my food plastic bag and told "have a nice day" sad days! I'm not sure I will waste my time and money there again. It's better to go to the one down by the...
