i hope this is not an experience anyone else has. my boyfriend came in to showcase his artwork, what heās been doing for years. thereās a way to let someone know what you THINK they need to work on. you donāt tell them āi can tell you just startedā, ask them if they even have the right art supplies or pull out someone elseās work and tell them āthis is who you need to be inspired byā & āthis is what art isā⦠almost everything can be art. iām not just saying this because heās my boyfriend but he has been doing this for years. seeing his thought process and what every drawing means to him has been so cool to witness honestly so you guys are missing out. it is really crappy to sit there and know your destroying oneās confidence and you can just tell when someone has that āi dont careā attitude towards you. there was no listening , or conversation, just talking. it doesnāt seem anyone who works here can take accountability or constructive criticism. art is a dying community, and to not be more supportive of each other is so sad. there was no need to be so passive aggressive. iām saying this to suggest to not give this place business they donāt deserve and to anyone reading this i think you should find another comic book store that has more variety & better prices anyways. donāt come here especially if your looking for great or even good customer service. looking at the āartā that is displayed on the wall and hearing how my boyfriend was spoken to is just a reminder of the audacity and entitlement people have seeing as most of it was not anyoneās unique art style. your likely to see the same art style more than once anyway. telling him that his art is not ātrueā to him and that it doesnāt show enough of who he is is crazy and i hate to see him lose a slight bit of confidence yet again. he started out with just pencil, paper, and tape. he could turn anything into art. his life is his art. these are his feelings. if only you could see what he could do but he knows better than to give a business like yāall his energy or time of day. my boyfriends instagram is @whoishazzard & his tiktok is @hazzardG if youād like to just show support, he could use the encouragement, thank you. and to whoever sees this working at this place, iām not looking for a response, im not interested in what you have to say. i see the tone you tend to take with other people expressing their issues & concerns because it doesnāt paint a good picture for yall. i just hope you guys take these reviews and do some very much needed work and SELF REFLECTION. because how dare you make someone feel like theyāre not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I live in Athens, and we've been to game and comic shops all over the state of GA. We have two of our own game shops in town and two comic shops as well, but rarely are we able to find a store that caters to both my love of games and her love of comics.
In that respect, Galactic Quest is as good as it gets. It is easily worth the 1+ hour drive from Athens, so if you're closer than that, it's a no brainer for all your trading card game, board game, collectible, and comic book/graphic novel needs.
The times I've been, Sean, the manager, has gone above and beyond to make me feel welcome, answer my questions, and get me set up with the my new Weiss Schwarz addiction. My wife was able to find the 10th Doctor and TARDIS Funko Pop figures that she's been searching for for years now. And we've barely scratched the surface of what Galactic Quest has to offer.
For a clean, well organized shop that caters to ALL your geeky needs, with a knowledgeable and friendly staff, and game nights hosted weekly, you really should give Galactic Quest a look....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited for the first time to get a gift yesterday, I hadn't been in a comic store in 2 decades and was a bit apprehensive to walk into the cliquish overly-self important environs of the typical comic stores I was used to as a kid. I found this store to be the opposite, everyone was extremely helpful and friendly and the store had a very nice energy. Despite the crowd, the older gentlemen who seemed to be in charge couldn't wait to give me a personal tour of all the possible locations that I should check out to satisfy my curiosity and immediate shopping list. I spent a bit more than I planned just to support such a place and will likely bring the kids back next time to explore.
He mentioned a Robotech vs Voltron comic that had been flying off the shelf.....I laughed and said I'd be...
