We Have been a Hallmark customer over 50 years. Today, we received a call from the Manager of the Burlington store telling us that two of the oranaments that we had on our list had been received. I informed him that we were out of town and could not pick up until Thursday. He replied that they must me picked up within "24 hours." Again I told him that were were out of town and that we were long time customers and he replied, "it don't matter how much money you have spent, that's our policy." I immediately called the Hallmark store in the town we was visiting, asked if they had the ornament, they did, and I went to the local store and picked up. They said they would be glad to assist me in the future and would have had no problem in holding the ornament for me. They are also biased and prejudice in their decision making when it comes to accepting returns. Their signs are purposely vague and the return policy is not listed on the receipt. This allows them to customize their decisions and make exceptions as they feel. Contemporary retailers have at the very least a 30 day return policy with a receipt. Not here.
