Guzman's Market — Local services in Burlington

I most recently was looking for Picanha. I stopped in at Guzman's Market as I had driven past many times. I entered the store and was greeted with a smile and hello! That's not unusual, however a smile and hello goes a long way in my book at any business. What I found was a very nice and well stocked market that showed the owners took great care in seeing that everything was perfectly in its place. The staff was cordial. I went to the meat counter where there were 3 men busily at work. I was greeted immediately by a very nice young man. He took my order for a 3 pound Picanha. He took the time to trim it nicely, wrapped it in heavy butcher paper and handed it to me with a smile and please come back. The price was at least $3.00 per pound less that the other market in Burlington that I frequent. I chose a few more items and went to check out. Again, I was greeted with a smile and a thank you! Thank you seems to have been replaced by the term (no problem) these days. I hate that term. It denotes that somehow, I am bothering the people whom you chose to do business with. I'm in the customer business myself and have been so for 45 years. A smile and a thank you should be the standard all business should be held to. Bit overpriced. Though, I’ll still shop here for special occasions. Would expect the men working in the meats to have more decorum but I guess men really are children. Especially because I was in there literally recommending a product to a non-spanish speaker since they can’t do that either. Free marketing from a loyal customer. But what can you expect...

Hispanic market. Fresh fruit, vegetables and meat sold here. You can ask the butchers to cut the meat the way that you want it. There is always some one behind the counter.
