Haand — Local services in Burlington

Apparently I am an outlier here. I loved the look of the handmade pasta bowls until I used them. After the first use they were marked with black lines from knives and forks. It was just spaghetti, so it wasn’t as if steak was being cut. I hoped it was a one time thing but it wasn’t. Both times I have used the bowls I had to clean them with Bar Keepers Friend as the website suggests you may have to do overtime. I had to literally scrub the bowls several times to make the marks fade. I very much understand about patinas with use and things not looking perfect - that aesthetic is why I bought handmade in the first place. However, I don’t think utensil marks create a patina or an appetizing look at the bottom of a bowl. If they were a year old, or even three months old I would understand. I bought seconds so perhaps that’s why mine are marking so easily. If that’s the case, I believe it should be stated in the description. Before leaving this review I sent an email to the company to tell them about my experience and my disappointment. I have not heard back from them. I’m leaving this review for others who may be considering buying from Haand so they have full information as to how they perform and not just how they look. Haand sometimes run deals on ceramic pieces that aren't perfect. There could be a blemish here or a slightly wonky shape there. They're totally functional pieces, just not perfect. My favorite short mug is actually one of those pieces. The top is slightly misshapen, oblong instead of round. Whenever I drink from it, I'm reminded of the imperfection of, well, everything...and that's just how it is. I think I prefer this brand over...
