Seriously, don't waste your time. I decided to stop by earlier tonight, despite reading all of the negative reviews. The first thing I noticed when I walked in the door was a pile of garbage bag near the entrance. The second thing I noticed were two employees watching me struggle to bring in a large container of clothing through the door, and not bothering to offer to help.
I got up to the counter, filled out the form and the girl told me to put the container on the counter and they would go through it. Again, no one offered to help me lift it onto the counter. I came back about an hour later to pick up what was left, and had to wait a few minutes to be helped because one employee walked past the two of us waiting, and the other was clearly on a personal call. She also walked away when she finished her phone call. I was told that of the entire lot, they could take three items for a total of $8. The three items included an Express top, a Miss Me tee and a Day Trip top. I'm not assuming that my stuff is the greatest, because I know they are picky. However, after reading all of the other negative reviews, it seems this Platos Closet really is worse than others.
I've gone to the Mankato location before and walked out with $100 for only a handful of items, as everything I bring in is name brand and close to brand new. Tonight I was told everything was too worn or not the brands they were looking for. I'm not offended, just annoyed that I wasted my time. Definitely won't...
Read moreI brang in 3 bags. One XL bag full of NEW teenage girl's clothes, had wetseal, Charlotte Russe, Ambercrombie, Aerpostal, Express, Rue21, Forever21, Tilly's & Old Navy's clothes. Worthy of $200 all together. Came to conclusion they only brought a pair of shoes that was $50 & only worn ONCE for $3.50. They made me wait ONE hour. Just selling one item out of my girl bag of clothes. While I was waiting I was looking at the kind of clothes they had granny shirts, but they couldn't buy my bag of clothes. Oh Lordy. The other two LARGE garbage white bag of clothes were Guy clothes, the brands were Hollister, Old Navy, Arizona, Diamond Co, Tillys, & Zumies. They were all brought less than a year & still VERY in style. Worth of $400 clothes. Waited a hour to sort them through. Came to conclusion they only brought 3 things. Total for $7.50. I received only one bag of guy clothes, but I brought in TWO bags. I asked them where my other bag were. We looked for a solid 7 minutes. It was missing. ONE bag worth of $200 brand name clothes missing WITH my card name sheet on each bag. How disappointing. I left the store without no hesitation. Never returning again, I give two stars for the kind energetic lady that was looking for our missing bag. I read the reviews on here the day before, they were all negative but I gave it a try. I WISH I listened. Never returning here again. The workers were all 15- 19 teenagers. They probably didn't know what they were doing or even how to sort....
Read moreAWFUL STORE! This store is a mess. Clothes everywhere, sizes all in the wrong places, missing tags and poor customer service! The entire time I was in there I listened to teenage girls and their drama. Bitching about this person and that person and everything in between. When it was time to pay for my merchandise I had to wait for them to finish and then when she did ring me up she made it like I was an inconvenience. I did attempt to sell some things. I sold only 2 items out of 3 baskets. I was told that my merchandise was not up to date and not the brands they are looking for. All of my brands were VS, Lucky, A&F and Hollister. I didn't expect them to totally refold everything, but to just throw it in the basket and have it falling out on the way out wasn't cool.
I went to the Woodbury store and it was a breath of fresh air. Clean, organized, and great service! I was greeted the moment I walked in the door. I took what the Burnsville store refused and she bought 30 items and didn't take the remaining items because they were full. I got a print out of what they took and how much they paid for this. Why doesn't the Burnsville store do this?
I live in Apple Valley and it is WORTH the drive to Woodbury!
I am reading reviews and it looks like I am not alone. Doesn't the Burnsville store check these reviews? Why wouldn't they want to make their store a place where people would want to shop and not make a drive 30+ miles north to visit...
