Issues: Black Mold in Bathroom Germs On unsanitary Equipment

OH MY GOD! There was black mold growing on the bathroom wall under the hand dryers.I mentioned it to staff,They did a sloppy job of cleaning it up missed a lot of it,It all grew back.I filed a health concern to the Public health board.Nothing was being done about the health issues.6 months later I filed another complaint. They still would not keep the mold cleaned up.I gave up! Also I noticed in the 8 months I had a membership there I was always getting a sort throat or sinus infection.I believe that was caused by the germ infested equipment. You cannot leave it to the public to keep the equipment sanitized!whats wrong with them?I am a certified health and Physical Education Teacher? Finally on two different occasions guys were being a_ _holes,causing conflicts . One was ready to fight for his piece of equipment that he had walked away from and came back to find me using it. A other guy got mad because he left and I was using his machine when he came back.He started to pick a fight used profanity said do you remember me? i said no I really do nottrying to keep the peace.Then he replys "Well i sure the FUC- remember you. He had his big buddy beside him .He must have made a complaint ! I was shocked.Anyways I get a call the next day .Planet fitness manager says your membership has been terminated. NO meeting with me to confirm that anything happened, just point blank, terminated just like that. A month later I am parked in the lot to use the tractor store next door.The police call and say if I ever park in front of planet fitness again I will be arrested.The fitness center is no trespassing. I was not even parked in front of the store. Read all the bad reviews on line you will not believe your eyes. Please stay away from the place you will get sick if you do not get beat up first.Maybe thrown in Jail! The most dirty and unprofessional fitness place I've ever been in ,and I have been going to them all my life. To begin with, I am not a member, nor will I ever be one given their current billing model.

In order to join, I would be required to give Planet Fitness my bank and checking account routing number so they can automatically withdraw my fees and dues using electronic fund transfer (EFT). The corporate website's FAQ resorts to gaslighting by explaining this as a convenience provided to their customers. REALLY?!? I can think of nothing more INCONVENIENT than being forced to hand over my checking information just to be able to join a gym. Unlike paying with a credit card, there is limited (generally, think no) consumer protection once the money is withdrawn from my account. I can't, in good conscience, add my name and checking account information to a (potentially hackable) data base somewhere in the cloud just to join a gym, no matter how much I'd like to join. I had taken the tour of the Butler, PA location and absolutely LOVED it! It was clean, lots of equipment, friendly staff, open 24/7 (an unexpected bonus)-exactly what I was looking for.In a gym.

Bottom line, if you're looking for a great gym and have no reservations over being REQUIRED to provide your checking account information, I think the Butler, PA location would be a great choice. Unfortunately, I can't. I give them one star strictly based on their inability to accept a willing, paying customer who doesn't want to pay by EFT

5/2/24 update. I have a suggestion. Planet Fitness can give me their banking information and I'll transfer my payment to them. How's that for...

This gym used to be very clean and taken care of. The staff took care of you immediately in a timely manner. Now you have at any given moment 3-5 staff members standing behind the counter on their phones, talking to eachother, really getting paid to just stand around and socialize with eachother. If they would do their actual job and maintain the equipment, the floors, spa beds, instead of making customers sit and wait 45 mins for a tanning bed when no one has walked in or out of that bed the whole time. Get your customers in and out instead of making us sit and wait because your too damn busy on your phones or talking about your private life. Maybe you should be out acknowledging the customers sitting and waiting for services, cleaning machines, floors, tanning beds, spa beds etc. when you get into a tanning bed and you see the dirt around the air vents that can easily be cleaned, and sweat marks on machines that's gross and a potentially an infection control issue. The staff that was there a year ago was better then these kids that do not understand work ethic. Maybe upper management should be around more often and direct their staff, I'm sure there are health regulations that have to be abided by, and they are clearly not. Hire someone who actually wants to work not stand there and play on their phones or stand behind the counter and not even say hello to the people walking in. Give some lessons on customer service...
