Hubby and I were on a shopping trip in the area (drove in from WV for the evening) and were looking for somewhere new to eat. We love a good diner, but it's rare to find one out our way that's open past 2pm, so we stopped in since it was dinner time and Burger Hut was actually open. Soup, sandwiches and fries...the soup was tasty but probably a bit better when it was fresh as the cabbage was pretty cooked down...but the flavors were on point. The fries came in a HUGE portion with cheese on top, and they tasted great. My husband's Reuben was good, just needed a bit more dressing. I had the patty melt, which was cooked perfectly and had just the right amount of onions and cheese, my only complaint was the meat was lacking any seasoning...so I dipped it in my soup, problem solved! Service was good, very friendly and fast. It didn't seem that any of the three people working (cook, server, girl bussing tables) slowed down for anything, constantly on the move. The crowd was a bit older, they seemed like regulars and were very friendly to us. It truly felt like a good diner with a greasy spoon menu, good service and hospitality....
Read moreWOW! ABSOLUTELY RUDE!!!!!! Been going here for years always been forgiving when things happen like service being slow or fries being accidentally dumped all over guests. However this is ridiculous! We literally were almost done eating maybe another 10 min when asked to switch tables to accommodate other guests. While I understand this guest needed a certain table due to a wheelchair they had already been waiting approximately 30 min because they came in before we even received all of our food. While the restaurant was busy and there were other people waiting for the table that opened up I find it very rude to ask someone else to move and take that table that someone else could occupy that is going to be there much longer. I mean people were sitting at tables that had not even been cleaned yet. To top it off to find out this guest who needed a corner seat was friends with waitstaff. I've heard alot of bad things about Burger Hit lately and people working there but I've always been a loyal patron. I guess I can cross this place off my list and add it to Butlers dying...
Read moreI would fire the waitresses if this were my business. Between the loud conversation they were having about the parties, their Amazon orders, and the f bombs and other cursing, it made for an unpleasant experience. Another customer saw me shaking my head after hearing some of their conversation, as she was also shaking her head. We both said to each other at the same time how we come from a different generation, and apparently this type of behavior is OK in this day and age. I'm sorry, but God business etiquette never goes out of style. If this were my business, there would be major rules set in place, the first being, no one wants to hear the cursing and stories. They want a quiet, and tasty breakfast. Neither of which we got today. The only reason we were there was because it was free. Won't be back. I never liked the food there anyways, but it's even worse now. So if you want burnt bacon, under cooked potatoes, and listening to the waitresses loud conversations and cursng... this is the...
