I wish more pepole would write an honest experince at Red Canon Cycles. This place is aweful I have spoken with two other people that have had the same rude and crude service I had. Notice when you go in, their are no good business awards at all. I come from being a regular customer in Crested Butte CO and Flagstaff AZ bike shops. If you pop in before or after a bike ride because your bike tube needs Stans in it, they will fix in in two mins for free and your out the door. Not RCC!
First off, he criticised me for bringing my bike into his shop. Uhhh...duh you claim to be a bike repair shop so why aren't bike allowed in? I have a $3,000 full suspension bike (not top of the line but not bottom either). I asked if he was able to add Stans and air (because only tubless takes Stans) to my tire, he asked if I even had tubless and if i knew what Stans was. I said "yes, i run tubless so i know I need Stans because my tire keep going a super low psi." Then he says its going to be two days before he can get to it. (I forgot to mention that their are no bikes at in his shop at all! Other than a road bike in display. ???????) I did say, (which i admit is rude and crossing the line) "how's that possible their are no bikes in here, an actual bike shop can put Stans and air in 2 minutes." He claimed he was very busy and then said I was not welcomed.
I went to Nick's Bikes in Pueblo West. And like a real bike shop, Brad the owner, put Stans and air in seriously two minutes. I was sooooo happy I told him what had happened at RCC he chuckled and said that was not the first time he had heard an experience like that at RCC. Brad chatted for a bit and we talked about bikes and trails then sent me on my way. He didn't charge me anything because he said he would love to have me...
Read moreMy tale is lengthy. We left our motor coach in Cañon City, CO, to be sold following repairs. We unloaded contents and shipped them home to central FL but there was one seemingly insurmountable issue. We had 2 foldable Bike Fridays that we couldn’t find an affordable way to move them from CO to FL. I contacted Scott, owner of Red Canyon Cycles, explained my tale of woe and asked if he could sell a bike box to the repair facility housing our coach so they could pack and send. Scott did better than that. He went to the facility, picked up both bikes, packed, and shipped and they arrived very safely today. We’ve never met Scott nor have we been in his shop but he’s got to be the epitome of the Gold Standard of customer service to do this for non-customers and total strangers. I would like to recommend him, his shop, and everything that he offers that is cycle-related. Thank you again, Scott, for going way beyond and...
Read moreThe mechanic was friendly and didn't try to up sell me. They had a bike I would have bought the first time I went in and the mechanic flat out told me the bike was one size too small for me. I respected his honesty over just getting the sale. It's smart business, to keep customers trust and coming back. So, I had to buy my bike online even though I would have rather have bought it from a local shop. Because of their honesty and knowledge (taught me how to set up my bike) I went back in to buy pedals and accessories even if it would have been a little cheaper online.
I do wish they had more stock and were open more often. I suspect biking isn't popular enough in the area to justify a larger inventory and longer hours.
Nice store and I will...
