I recently visited DiRito's Italian restaurant in Canon City, CO, on a Thursday night for their ladies night, and I couldn't have been more delighted with my experience. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the half order of Olio Oule—a dish that left my taste buds dancing with joy. Olio Oule, aptly named "poor man’s pasta," is a true gem on DiRito's menu. The simplicity of its ingredients belies the explosion of flavor that awaits with each forkful. The spaghetti noodles were perfectly cooked and expertly tossed in a divine blend of butter, olive oil, spices, hard cheese, and garlic. The dish is a testament to the culinary artistry at DiRito's. The buttery richness, the subtle infusion of olive oil, the aromatic spices, the savory hard cheese, and the robust garlic flavor harmoniously come together to create a symphony of tastes that linger on the palate. The portion size for the half order was just right for me, allowing me to savor each bite without feeling overwhelmed. It's no wonder that Olio Oule is listed as one of DiRito's customer favorites—it has certainly earned its place on my list of go-to dishes. I opted for the house salad, an Individual Salad featuring a delightful blend of Iceberg and Romaine lettuce with Spring Mix Greens, sliced tomatoes, purple onions, and croutons. What elevated the salad experience for me was the delicious blue cheese dressing and generous blue cheese crumbles. The combination of fresh greens and the flavorful dressing made it a perfect accompaniment to my meal. The ambiance of the restaurant, combined with the attentive and friendly waitress Jen, added to the overall positive experience. Ladies night at DiRito's is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy great food in a welcoming environment. If you find yourself in Canon City, don't miss the chance to indulge in the culinary delight that is Olio Oule at DiRito's Italian restaurant. It's a treat for the senses and a testament to the fantastic offerings this establishment has to offer. Highly...
Read moreWorst food we've ever had. First of all, they start you off with a basket of their supposedly homemade ice cold white bread that is not even toasted. It's literal raw white bread with a side of roasted garlic that you are supposed to smash and put on yourself. Which would be fine if it wasn't also ice cold. Also, you get a side salad with your meal, but if you want any dressing other than italian, you are charged for a full size salad even though it comes with your meal, because the salads are premixed in italian, so it is the only dressing that you can get. They put Spinach and mushrooms in your meal (items that obviously come with S&M) but they don't cook them. They put them in raw and I guess hope that the heat from the noodles cooks it for them. The waitress is nowhere to be found and when you do tell her she just acts like that as normal that the food is raw and cold. So she comes back to the table to 3 of us with full plates of food in front of us and asks if we want to go boxes which we tell her no, because we're all eating cold raw food. She brings us the bill of sixty dollars, not worth 2 cents. Also, if you go, make sure to bring your fly swatters, because between the cold food, the raw vegetables, and swatting flies away, it was a real experience. Honestly I think the flies were more involved with our table than the server and the manager. They should hire the flies, I saw them more than i ever...
Read moreThis Restaurant was an unexpected place. My friend Liz has wanted to try DiRito's for several years now so we decided to just do it. We are so glad that we did. It is a wonderful place to have a great Italian meal! I had the spaghetti with onions and peppers. Liz had their eight inch pizza. When I say you had to look to see the pizza, I mean you had to look! She ordered the pizza with artichoke as well as other toppings and they load the pizza with a ton of toppings! I enjoyed everything about this great place as did Liz and we can't wait to go back for another mouth watering meal! The service was excellent and our server knew the menu inside and out. Parking was very good even though there is road work being done on one half of the street. I only have one huge complaint. I didn't think to leave room for dessert!!!!! Our server recommended that we get it to go but because of the distance as well as other stops we decided to pass. We also know that we will be going back often because this food is amazing!!!!!! Most items are made "from scratch". There words not mine, but it shows. They have a good selection but it's not overwhelming. We ordered the garlic bread with cheese, which could be a meal on its own! We could tell most people were locals and that says a lot. I hope you give them a try, and enjoy it as much as we did. Thank you...
