In short...pizza good, service bad. We were on vacation in Canon City and stopped by Pizza Madness for lunch due to good Google reviews. We arrived at 11 am on a Sunday. There was only 1 other table with patrons and so we were greeted right away and our drink order taken. When she came back we ordered. She delivered our salad in a timely manner. Our pizza took almost 40 minutes to arrive (with only 2 tables plus someone who came in later who must have ordered ahead.) *I see now on the website it states 25-30 minutes for their crispy bottom pizzas and that you can order ahead.* The waitress could have mentioned the time when we ordered as a reminder (since we weren't locals) or as a suggestion, put it on your menu. Here is where the service went down. She delivered the pizza and we never saw her again, ever. Not a "How's the pizza?" "Can I get you some more water?" "Do you need a box?" "Are you ready for the bill?" Nothing, we sat there even to the point that I was on my phone sitting sideways and no one was eating pizza at our table any more. She came as close as the next table to us. The only way I could have gotten her attention is if I had walked up to her while she was there. We finally found another gal who was more than happy to get us a box and the bill. The restaurant was a little busier at this point but it is no excuse. Either get more waitresses or have them be more aware of their tables. Our other complaint was that there was a worker cleaning the front door (near where we were seated) with an aerosol window cleaner. The ceiling fans were on and the smell spread. I jumped up immediately and asked her if she could do that after we left. She said no problem. Please clean your windows before anyone gets there. I am sure I am not the only fragrance sensitive person.

Uh.....let’s start with the bad and the ugly. We ordered the gluten free crust. Has anyone ever had those bisquick type of “pizzas” as a kid? This was somewhat like that. We had jalapeño, sausage, and bacon. The bacon was clearly like “bac-o-bits” but the “real bacon” kind (just a guess, but considering my restaurant experience). Maybe it was uncooked when it was put on, but it tasted (crunched like grape nuts) like it went on fully cooked and then fired after. We think there was sausage, but who knows. The takeaway? Steer clear of gluten. Your in a old timey town, at a present day saloon. Getting something like gluten free must be like a 400 lb man going to Gold’s gym. Okay, now that we got that out of the way. The wings were another order. We got the “dragon” flavor. This was a cross between a thick teriyaki sauce and crushed red pepper. It changed my life. Unbe-friggin-leavable! No mixed drinks here; just beer and wine. Atmosphere is great. Casual, fun for kids too. TVs with sports. Open kitchen concept. Service wasn’t bad either. For a place with the name pizza in the name, and considering it’s still in “granola” Colorado, I was bummed about the gluten and toppings. But certainly not a deal killer for those that want a four pound hand tossed crust!

Wish I could give this 5 stars... And if it were based on pizza taste alone, it would be. We (family of parents plus 2 teens) ordered a family sized house salad, a specialty pizza "Colorado" (chicken, green chillies, black olives, and bacon), and two in-state brewed beers. The salad was good quality greens with cheese shavings and exactly 2 banana peppers and 2 little baby cherry tomatoes (we almost had to fight over who got what)... And choice of dressing. The beers were both delicious. The "Colorado" pizza was probably one of the best pizzas I've ever had in my life.... With one exception. There were rock-hard black olive pits sprinkled throughout. When I mentioned it to our nice server, he said that he's heard of customers complaining of pits being in their salad but not their pizza. Personally, I have brittle teeth and having an emergency root canal or tooth extraction while visiting from another state does not sound like it's worth the best $18 pizza in the world. We were offered no exchange of pizza or compensation, so we finished eating and just chewed very slowly and cautiously. Almost the most amazing food stop.

My family and I had gone in on August 11 (Sunday) with some visiting family for a late lunch, around 1:30PM (Stayed till around 2:30PM)

My immediate family and I have eaten at Pizza Madness several times and have almost always had pleasurable experiences, but this last visit was not only aggravating but left me personally aggravated. When we first entered the building to be seated (we were a party of Nine), we stood in the entryway because none of the larger tables were available. We were hoping they might be able to push two tables together, since they were not very busy (at the time over 6 smaller tables were open).

But a larger table cleared and we were able to sit there, but we were told we would have to leave quickly as the table would need to be used for other customers. My grandmother was dismayed because she can't eat very quickly, which was raised but the woman shrugged it off.

Our waitress was "okay" at first, but it steadily declined when our drinks were frequently left to run empty and she made our entire group feel like an inconvenience.

My personal annoyance was further stressed while watching the BusBoy running tables at that time. He nearly hit a gentleman with a chair who was eating his food nearby the table that he was rushing to clean (No idea why the rush, over 6 tables were still available and no one waiting).

On top of that, while he would clean trash with his cleaning cart, if any trash missed the bin he would exacerbate the problem by acting aggravated and leaving the trash on the floor. We attempted to gather his attention when our drinks had first run dry, in hopes that if nothing else he'd alert our waitress. He made eye contact with us, practically rolled his eyes and kept moving on (we ultimately had to get up and chase her down to make her aware).

While watching him further (had nothing to do while waiting for our drinks and food we've already committed to) I was dumbfounded as I watched him wipe his nose with his hand repeatedly while handling and stacking fresh cups above the soda dispenser.

Between the fact that I question if I was drinking "booger" soda and the lack of an employee that seemed to even be happy or slightest bit cheerful (Save for a Male waiter who seemed to be amazing with his tables) I can safely say I'm staying away for a bit.

All in the all the food was good. It's strictly the customer service that left me feeling very agitated.

Hopefully they get the people who run the floor straightened up and actually taking pride in their work. If you go in, try a different day of the week. Hopefully you'll get a...

I called 2 weeks ago to get a quote on a large order, then I called 3 days before the event I needed the pizza for to ask when the best time to order it would be so that they were prepared. They said the day of was good. I called the day I needed the pizzas. The owner immediately got on the phone “ you need 30 pizzas today, like now?” I said yes. She started laughing asking why I thought She could do that on such short notice. I explained to her that I had already called twice to talk to them and give them a heads up. She asked me why I would possibly need that many pizzas for, if I knew how many people that would feed, and how many people I was ordering for. She was extremely rude. I told her it was for a graduation, and that I just needed that many pizzas. She continued to go on about how many slices that was, and again asking questions that weren’t her business. She says I don’t believe you called here, or you must not of told them you needed 30 pizzas. I explained to her that they absolutely did know because I got a quote for the 30 pizzas. She asked how much it was. She continued again to say she doesn't believe me and her staff said she didn't talk to me. I told her who i talked to. She again continues to grill me on why i need that much food. I told her I didn’t understand why she was being so rude and refusing the order, and the money. I asked if she was the manager or if I could talk to someone. She says laughs and says “ I’m the damn owner” and hangs up on me. I understand it’s a large order and if she would have just said “ no sorry we won’t be able to do that” then it would have been absolutely fine. But from the VERY beginning she was nasty. She not once tried to be understanding, or accommodating. I was completely baffled at her behavior. Especially for a business owner. I WILL not be giving that business any...
