I first met Chef Wayne while he was working at another local business. While he took care of our family in that transaction we spoke about his passion for food and his work in other restaurants. I found him to be honest, kind, helpful, and passionate about his work. That transaction went extremely smoothly and that taught me a lot about the character of this man.
I was excited to learn that he moved on to follow his passion and open a local catering business.
On the way home from the gym I drove past his place, saw him working and decided to drop in.
I was welcomed with the same kindness and warmth by Chef Wayne and he told me about what all he’s been up to in his business.
The bread was fresh, there were multiple soups of the day, and the cinnamon rolls were tempting me to ruin the work I had just put in at the gym.
My daughter is engaged to be married so I asked several questions about his catering options. Everything sounded very reasonably priced and delicious so I forwarded his information to our wedding planner.
The temptation of the cinnamon rolls and his Chicken and Dumplings was just too much to pass up, so I bought two of each - one for me and one for my wife. Wayne insisted on packaging my wife’s cinnamon roll in nice little brown box just to make it special for her.
The cinnamon rolls are among, if not, the best I’ve ever had. They are sweet, but not overly so, soft and fantastic. They were well worth the miles I had just put in on the treadmill! As a bonus, he has a coffee pot and the coffee is free. It’s the perfect pairing with a cinnamon roll!
The chicken and dumplings were also incredible for lunch. They came with a half a loaf of fresh baked bread. The dumplings are hand made and the bread was perfect for soaking up every drop of the shredded chicken broth.
Wayne’s place is a great asset to Cabot. He’s right in the center of town and impossible to miss. I strongly recommend that you stop in and indulge in your favorite of his offerings including, but not limited to soups, breads, breakfast sandwiches, biscuits and gravy, coffee, and of course...
