Tl;dr: Awesome atmosphere, fun shop, great prices, beautiful jewelry. JR is the only person I trust to do my piercings!

I love piercings but I have been too nervous to get any after my last two experiences since they were so awful (painful process, constantly infected despite cleaning them, allergic reactions, and never healing up even after 6+ months). Even though I really wanted more piercings, I didn't want to chance it. The only place I trusted was in my hometown over 500 miles away, and I was willing to drive there to get a piercing if it meant it was going to be done RIGHT. Fortunately, I didn't have to travel that far to get a fantastic piercing!

Blue Ring Studio is the ONLY place I have found with a solid 5 star review and I can see why! JR is such a cool guy and he's super nice! He is nonjudgmental, answers all questions (no matter how silly you think they are), and he's very honest and upfront with you about stuff. He talked to us about the type of jewelry he carries (whether they're hypoallergenic, costs, care, etc.) and he worked hard to make sure the piercings worked for us. He marked where he thought the piercings would look best on us but let us know we could have them anywhere we wanted, since it was our piercing and our bodies. But he has such a good eye for this stuff and my piercings look so much better than I imagined! He also tells a lot of great stories, is really relaxed, and is generally a really nice person.

I got both a nose ring and a helix piercing. I ended up choosing a beautiful 5-stone opal helix stud and a really pretty light green nose L-ring. The helix stud cost extra since it was a special piece, but it's honestly so pretty and well made that I didn't care (and it's a very reasonable price too actually). We are also moving soon and he said that he can even mail us any jewelry we want once we move, which I thought was super awesome since some other shops don't do that. But seriously, the prices are SO reasonable compared to other shops! And JR is so good at what he does that my piercings didn't even hurt that much. They aren't even that sore/bruised the next day, which is awesome (seeing as my last piercings were sore for over half a year after I got them).

My sister got a conch piercing the same time and changed out her nose stud for a hoop, and JR was so awesome in helping her with that.

I also love how his studio is set up! Lots of band stuff, movie merchandise, music playing, artwork, etc. I'm only disappointed that I discovered this place too late and I'll be moving soon! I would love to have JR do all of my piercings! Thank you Blue Ring Studio for making this...

I had been searching for a long time for a tattoo artist I trusted completely because I'd been terrified of something going wrong or the tattoo not ending up I wanted. I've only had 1 other tattoo done in the past 3 years, but my tattoo ideas and designs mean a lot to me so I always worried I would end up with something I don't like.

I had tagged along with my friend a few months back for her tattoo, and I loved the vibes of the whole place and his process, so I decided to give it a try. A few months later, I booked a session. We met in person to get everything set up, and he was super cool, friendly, and super chill. He gave fantastic advice and made me feel more confident in my tattoo design, and he answered every question I had very easily.

Tattoo date came around today and I was ecstatic when he showed me the finished design!! He made sure that I liked everything there and that I was good with the design before getting started. Throughout the whole thing, he was super friendly, he made sure that I was doing good throughout the whole apt. It was amazing watching him bring my tattoo to life.

At the halfway mark he suggested finishing up at a later date, as he had concerns that my skin would end up too irritated to continue taking ink. Super chill about the whole thing and he gave me the choice to stop or not, which I decided yes I would take his advice and have it finished up. It was very easy to tell that the client's satisfaction and the quality of the tattoo were at the very top of his list, and he delivered perfectly.

If I could give JR at Blue Ring Studios 10 stars I would give above and beyond the best rating for the beautiful work he did with the cover up of my tattoo! JR is honest and doesn't try to sugar coat anything. He has a very laid back approach so he makes the whole experience very comfortable. He is definitely professional when it comes to cleanliness and sanitation in everything he uses in his process. When consulting with him about what I wanted and giving him free reign on design, color, etc. JR came up with this piece that is better than I could have imagined! He answers any questions you may have and he gives plenty of instructions for after care. His prices are decent and I will be going back to add more to the piece I have now because I am so happy with the result, I am in awe of how awesome it turned out for having a cover up done. I was really nervous after 13 yrs since my first tattoo and JR has changed my whole opinion from the overall experience I had in his studio.
