I had a very disappointing experience at this location. The staff were unprofessional, unhelpful, and lacked basic customer service skills. I came in to return a saw and some leftover lumber purchased from another branch and was told they couldn’t process the return because they didn’t have enough cash on hand. I was then referred to the Caldwell location, where I was told they could not issue a cash refund for any transaction over $50 — even though I had purchased the saw and lumber in cash earlier that same day.
To clarify the situation, I contacted the corporate customer service line. Corporate confirmed that this should not have been handled this way. They stated that since the purchase was made in cash and on the same day, the Caldwell location should have refunded me in cash. Corporate also confirmed that the store should never have processed a refund to a card that was not used for the original purchase.
In addition, when I inquired about fencing materials, I found their prices to be extremely high compared to other suppliers. Home Depot’s pricing was much more reasonable, and local fencing supply yards were nearly half the cost.

I’ve used them less the past few years after I realized my go-to salesman at a different location was marking up everything 15-20% to get a higher commission. Then this last week I tried to return some really warped boards they sold me and they wouldn’t take them back because they “need to be able to resell them.” Yeah like how you sold them to me? So not only did I lose time by having to leave the job site to go get decent boards somewhere else when I realized they gave me only terrible boards, I also lost time driving back there later only for them to tell me they wouldn’t take any of them back.
