Harter's Party Store — Local services in Calumet Township

Harter's has a wide selection of products ranging from alcohol and tobacco to your typical gas station level groceries. Unfortunately, when it comes to certain items they are deficient. For instance, they have only one selection of tobacco pipe filters and they are not even a commonly used type or brand. The staff are uneducated in their stock and cannot tell the difference between tobacco pipe cleaners and tobacco pipe filters. I have been in this store multiple times and on each of those occasions they made the same elementary mistakes. I requested from the owner if they could bring into stock 9mm charcoal pipe filters with my promise of purchasing them on a regular basis, the owner was either unwilling or incapable of stocking these items. It seems to me that they have an overstock of marijuana paraphernalia and the staff are well educated in these, at the same time they are ignorant about tobacco products in stock. I've been forced to order my tobacco products online; rather than purchase them locally, because this business and the other like it are either unwilling or incapable or properly stocking an appropriate selection of products requested from the non-pothead members of...

We sat and waited at the register for more than 5 minutes before someone noticed us. Cashier seemed irritated that we interrupted whatever he was doing before he rang us up.
