Wanna see if this bike shop is worthy of your service? This is the review you've been looking for. I broke my chain about a month ago and needed a quick repair, for my BMX, so I took it to Camas Bike & Sport! I used these guys frequently about 8 years ago, but never since; I remember it being great! Unfortunately, this is not what it used to be. When I came back I saw a ton of stuff like my brake, and bars and back tire were still scuffed up and completely out of place, from when I originally broke the chain. No worries, I asked if they did a full checkup on it whilst doing the chain. The employee said no, and semt pissed at me for even asking. I noted this behavior, and then I asked them to check it for any problems and bring it back with the issues. They fixed up the Brake, said it was accordioned and there was nothing they could do about the grip. They gave me the full check+refurbish, even whilst not fixing the misplaced tire... As seen in the reciept: I didnt need a "lube chain" for the chain I JUST got from them, or shifting+suspension air/check, as my bike is a BMX... I also didnt need your buddy check, that obviously didnt check the wheel misplecement, just a problem check... On top of the 65$ I paid for the chain, I was also charged for this $125 rip of a check, and ended up with a nearly $200 bill.
TL;DR, This place is a convience location for parts, and not service. If you are looking for service, I would reccomend driving out to either: Gresham BMX, Outer Rim Bicycle, or any other trusted shop...
Read moreI had two mountain bikes tuned up at this shop. The tuneups seem to be fine. I will update this review if I discover any problems with the tuneups. Selection of gear was very poor. I needed biking shoes and they did not have my size in any of the shoes that they carried. I needed a helmet but they only had a very limited supply and none of them fit me.
Regardless of all that, I would've given them more stars have they honored their coupons. I had two coupons for $10 off of any full-price purchase. I purchased two full-price tuneups. They would not honor either coupon and that is the entire reason I drove all the way out to Camas to get my bike tuned up when I had a shop that was closer.
Ed (owner) called me and discussed the issue. He asked me about my tuneup and offered to make things right. I appreciate his phone call and I think that working issues out with the customer is what it's all about. So I'm updating my star rating from 2 stars to 4. I still think their selection could be a bit better, but for me, it's more about customer service and Ed has helped restore my faith in Camas...
Read moreLets start by saying I'm not a bicycle guy! I wanted to buy a higher quality bike for my 11 year old daughter who loves riding. Around Christmas time I went in and Ed the owner and I guessed on the proper size and we guessed way to small. This Sunday was the first day her and I had time to bring the bike back and see if we could make some adjustments. I walked into the service area and the technician in the area looked at her and looked at the bike and said we need to get her intro a bigger bike! He didn't pass me off to someone else he walked me down to the show room asked her the right questions and had her ride a few bikes. When we found the perfect bike he could tell she wasn't in love with the color and said I have a matte orange one you might like upstairs let me go get it, and it was perfect! This was one of the best buying experiences I have had in recent memory. Thanks for making...
