Due to an appointment at a different salon being canceled I found my self desperate for a blow dry/ style on a Saturday afternoon for my brother's wedding. I am visiting from NYC and was referred to Nico Bella but they were closed and recommended that I go to magnolia. I was very nervous about finding a place because we have very high standards in NYC.
I told the girl that I was wearing a 50's style dress so would like feminine curls, but my hair does not hold curl so if you think it is no possible then lets try a 1/2 up style or volume pony tail. I even showed her some pictures. She started by not washing my hair and saying that it will style better dirty and that she feels she can get it to curl. When she finished my hair looked nothing like the photos and did not look good at all! It had wavy curls and my hair still looked greasy from my morning run. So we decided to try a 1/2 up to see if that would look better. Nope, now my hair looks teased, frizzy and still nothing like the photos I showed her. I asked her to do something about the frizz, she added de-frizzing oil to my hair....so it is now heavier and greasier. This is going downhill so I tell her just to do voluminous pony. It still is not looking right....b/c my hair looks greasy and teased. At this point I am now using the brush to try and work my hair and get it into some kind of ponytail. It is not working. I really think my hair should have been washed and then used volumizing products and a nice blow out. After multiple attempts I payed for the service and left. I went to the salon next door to see if they could help me....they were completely booked. The receptionist helped me to call other salons to find an appointment and of course everyone is booked on a Saturday afternoon. I am on the verge of tear as this hair is now going to be in wedding photos. With no choice left, I go back to Magnolia and plead for them to fix my hair. They tell me they are booked for the rest of the day and cannot help me. The person I spoke with said she had 7min that she can try to give it some curl and try to make it a little bit better. At this point this is all I have left to try. The only good thing they did do was give me with a comb and some hair spray so that I can try and fix it up just before the wedding. Of course 3 hours into the wedding all of my curls fell out and I was in the changing room re-curling my hair. This was a horrible experience that led me to nearly crying...
Read moreI booked an appointment with this salon wanting light pink highlights. I had a consultation prior to my appointment where I showed pictures of what I wanted and the stylist and we agreed on using a semi permanent pink dye to create a subtle look. When I got to the hair appointment everything was changed and the stylist had to leave to get the opinion of another stylist multiple times. She then said we needed to do a permanent dye to achieve what I wanted. She also informed me she was using 4 different permanent hair dye colors so she wouldn't run out. The end result was not at all the color I wanted and the dye job itself was atrocious and splotchy. It was an aggressive shade of magenta and since it was permanent dye it would not lighten. I have included pictures of the both the reference image I showed the stylist and what I walked out of the salon with. I contacted the salon owner telling her all this and she said it was my fault and the stylist communicated what the end result would be. When I refuted this claiming I had no idea I would be walking out of the salon with magenta hair and noted the fact that I showed a picture multiple times of what I wanted, she completely ignored me, never responding. I had to go to another salon to fix my hair and the stylist there said she could not believe they let me walk out of their salon looking liker that. I had to pay nearly $200 to have my hair ruined. and another $200 to get bit fixed. I would leave zero...
Read moreI had the worst hair cutting experience of my life!! Almost left looking like a stray dog :((((
I went in for my haircut on time. She cut my hair but didn't want to blow dry it (even though it was included in the price). Because i had too much hair!?! Another kind associate offered to help me get it straigtened which was nice. After it was straigtened i noticed that she cut my hair sooooo uneven. The layers in front were 2-3 INCHES LONGER THANK MY LAYERS IN THE MIDDLE!!! AND THE SAME LENGTH AS MY HAIR IN THE BACK.
I looked completely stupid!! And she wanted to send me out with wet unever hair. If the kind associate didnt offer to straigten my hair I wouldn't have noticed until i left.
The kind associate asked their stylist to fix it. The stylist was very sweet too. I had to get my front hair soooo much shorter than i like just to fix this huge mistake!!
The worst part was that NO ONE ADMITED THAT THIS WAS A HUGE MISTAKE AND TOOK RESPONSIBILITY. Please just look at the pictures lol. never coming back here. BE VERY CAREFUL IF YOU GET A HAIRCUT HERE!! Ask for Amy if you do get a haircut here. She was the stylist and seemed to know what she was doing.
I was there for over 2 hours for a simple haircut. THE PERSON WHO CUT MY HAIR SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED WITH SCISSORS!! i wish i remebered her name but i don't.
I don't ever write bad reviews but I left this place wanting to cry.
VERY...
