This place is a bit of a hidden gem, but well worth a visit. Conveniently located near the Red Line, it’s easy to reach by public transit. However, it can be a little tricky to spot from the street since it’s tucked away on the ground floor. If you’re not paying close attention, you might walk right past it.

A helpful landmark is the Google building directly across the street, and if you look up, you’ll notice the cozy Ripple cafĂ© located above the bookstore. These make the bookstore’s location a bit easier to pinpoint.

The bookstore itself isn’t very large, and the selection of books is somewhat limited. That said, the collection is thoughtfully curated, focusing on areas like technology, design, and academic research. I was happy to find a book I had been searching for, so even with the smaller selection, it’s possible to discover something useful or interesting.

Overall, it’s a quaint and quiet spot, perfect for a quick browse. Its location near major landmarks and public transit makes it a convenient stop, especially if you’re in the area. Just keep an eye out, as it’s easy to miss from...

Honestly can't wait til you guys open up again. I've been waiting FOREVER!!

Edit:

OMG, I can't believe you finally opened up!! Not gonna lie I first saw the bookstore when I was at Roxy's Grilled Cheese across the street. So I crossed the street to check you out, but by then you were already closed. I came back the next day, and lo and behold you closed up shop because you were moving and because of the COUGH. I was devastated.

I'm so happy you're open again. I love coming in and picking up that sweet new-book smell. There's so many awesome books at this bookstore that I couldn't believe it when one of my high-end friends said that you also sold real MIT curriculum-level books as well. Interesting.....

đŸ€” Maybe I won't be needing to go to college and go into huge debt and become another statistic.

đŸ€” Or maybe I do. Because how else am I gonna be a high-level corporate baron fleecing my fellow man into oblivion???

I love you, MIT Press...

This bookstore focuses books published by MIT press and curated titles. It’s a “smart people bookstore,” with books that make you think and learn. The shop is down in a basement and I got lost in reading the backs of books, time marked only by the overhead rumble of the red line. The books here are niche enough that there are only occasionally copies at the local libraries, so I do end up spending money here rather than getting it at the library. There’s also a kids book section that has some excellent variety: I can do all my holiday shopping between this bookstore and the MIT Museum gift...

It was a fan girl moment walking around the MIT Press bookstore. I was getting all misty and overcome with joy about it. Met a new friend, too! Fellow writer and book nerd, Rebecca was an absolute jewel pointing towards covers that might be of value to my dissertation research. Honestly, this was my favorite moment during my visit to Cambridge.

Seriously the best bookstore we've been to in Boston by now, and we've done a bunch! I was impressed by the selection of art books and overall variety. How the space is organized is also cool, and the discount section is nice. I had to really really control myself. Highly recommend!!
