I can’t tell if I’m being punk’d or not. I’ve been here three times already and every time there has been five cheese sticks on the tray and they never have any more. I just want to get the six-pack (which costs less) and they never have six. I’m always told “we can make more, but it will take an hour.” Why offer a six pack deal when you never have six? I begrudgingly bought the five sticks every time because they’re just that good.
EDIT: Another visit, another case of there only being 5 cheese sticks on the pan. I don't plan hours in advance to visit Bakey. I decide to pop in and visit because it happens to be on the way home from where I'm coming from. You're asking me to order well in advance which is hours, (look, if I order half an hour in advance, then you still won't have it if it "takes over an hour" to make more), and all I'm asking is for you to have an item to be in stock that you clearly offer on your menu. There has to be something that's causing there to have 5 sticks remaining on the pan. Are you making them 5 at a time? I'd be less disappointed if there were two or three left, but every time I visit, it's five, just one less...
Read moreExceptional food and service in a convenient location. The banana pecan babka is my favorite - rich and flavorful - and the other varieties are solid too. Their espresso drinks are high quality as well. The staff is very friendly and speedy. My one and only complaint is the availability of seating. There are, if I recall correctly, 6 two-top tables that are large enough to seat up to 4, along with one four-top large enough to seat up to 6. Because of the inefficient use of space, there are very few, if any, seating options if you come alone or with one other person. What this shop would benefit from is more smaller two-top tables instead of the few larger ones, creating a more welcome environment for dine-in eaters. However, this is not enough to deduct from my score because the food and service are just that good! I highly recommend stopping by, even if you have to go out of your...
Read moreI was really looking forward to trying this new café, but unfortunately, my first (and last) experience was disappointing. I rarely post negative comments about service, but I found the staff quite unwelcoming. When we asked for more details about a cake, they didn’t know and responded coldly. I requested a matcha without ice cubes, which seemed to surprise them, and it wasn’t served properly. Additionally, the syrup was not listed as a paid extra on their menu. I appreciate that other cafés make an effort, and I’ve never had an issue with this request elsewhere, I've always been served normally. For nearly $7 for a 'large' matcha, I expected better quality, but unfortunately, it wasn’t great. The one positive note: the milk they use is nice. I really wanted to enjoy my visit, but it didn’t live up to...
