Came in to replace an online order that was canceled without telling me - this doesn’t reflect on the store but the rest of this review does.
When I came in the manager helped me pick out replacement furniture. A kitchen table set with chairs and a bench, plus a dresser and nightstands. She had to leave and told the sales manager to have my order delivered via threshold, which means that their distribution center delivers the items to me directly. She also told him to offer me a discount using promo codes.
While the sales manager tried to placing my order he had tech issues. A lot of them. System freezing, crashing, logging him out, overriding price matching, delivery calendar blocking off, etc. It took 2 hours in the store for my order to get placed. When he finally printed the invoice my email address and billing address was incorrect. He assured me it would get fixed first thing in the morning… as I leave the store I see on the receipt that he didn’t give me the promised discount.
He left a note with a big bold red marker for the manager to look over my order and make corrections and left it on the desk after they closed. The next day I called in the afternoon and confirmed that it had not been updated. Got that fixed and was told the nightstands would arrive the following Wednesday. Great.
Surprise! That Friday the dresser was delivered and it was broken. I called and spoke with the sales manager again but when I told him the situation he began speaking to the new team member in training telling her what to do. Not “I’m sorry that happened, here’s what we’ll do to fix it.” Terrible customer service.
A week later and I still don’t know what’s supposed to happen with my return, when the replacement will arrive, nothing. I call and speak to the sales manager again. He promises me that their warehouse manager will call the next day with an update on the return and additional items. I told him I don’t expect her to call. He disagrees. Next day, she doesn’t call.
I call back. Turns out the warehouse is only willing to make one trip to my home, so nothing was scheduled to ship because they’re still waiting on one piece to arrive in their warehouse. Like they’re holding my furniture that I paid for weeks ago hostage.
Every promise was broken. Terrible customer service. Terrible communication. Basically, unless you’re walking out of the store with your furniture in your hands, good luck! No tracking info provided. They piecemeal every item out to a different team member. Anyone you call passes the buck to someone else who doesn’t follow through or call you back when they say they will.

When the delivery team arrived, they seemed irritated that we wanted to inspect the furniture for defects. We told them we’d look over the pieces before and after assembly. During assembly, they put the table together backwards. After we pointed it out, they reassembled it correctly, but in the process dropped several pieces onto our wood floor.
Once finished, they rushed us through inspection, shoving an iPad in my face for a signature and giving us barely 30 seconds to look over the items. Their tools had been placed in such a way that they covered damage — a cracked tabletop and a chair with a hole in it — which we discovered as soon as they left.
I called the store immediately. The manager seemed concerned and said she’d file a claim and that someone would contact us right away, but also mentioned there would be no refunds since we had signed for the furniture. After a week of silence, we called the 800# only to learn there was no record of our claim. We had to start over, send photos, and wait for a technician to “service” our brand-new table.
We were told to expect a callback in 72 hours. A week passed with no contact. Another representative promised a response within 2–3 days. Again, nothing.
The table was purchased on July 26 and delivered on July 30. As of today, August 13, we have a brand-new but cracked table and a damaged chair in our kitchen — along with a lot of frustration and wasted time.
The complete lack of accountability, responsibility, and customer support has convinced us we will never purchase from Ashley’s again. At this point, we don’t even want the furniture anymore due to the stress and aggravation this experience has caused. I woke up at 6:30am to wait on my delivery that was supposed to be delivered between 7 AM and 10 AM. At 9:30 AM, I received a message saying the delivery was unsuccessful. They never tried to deliver anything. When I called they said the delivery was never on the truck. I decided to cancel my entire order and get a refund August 23 I spoke with someone they said I would be refunded in 3 to 5 days August 27 comes around I call again. The refund was never processed and so they decide to process it and said it would be returned in 7 to 10 business days. Past 7 to 10 business days after I have called about eight times in total and was reassured that my refund was issued on August 27. It is now September 17 and I still do not have a refund. They keep telling me that the refund was processed and that I should have gotten it and I keep telling them even after speaking to my bank nothing has even pending to go into my account so they either issued my refund to someone else or they just don’t wanna give it to me. They said that they reached out to their financial department. I would have to wait another three days. We are almost a month in after my cancellation and I still do not have my Refund.This was my very first time using this place and I will never use them again nor will I ever recommend them to anybody.
