Basket Shack — Restaurant in Canton

The Basket Shack was an awesomely friendly experience. It was our first visit, and we were warmly greeted at the door. Our waitress served our coffee, took our order, cooked our food herself, and served us with a little friendly conversation. She was on top of our coffee the whole time, keeping it full and hot. The food was delicious, filling, and affordable! While we were eating, other customers arrived who were obviously regulars as they were greeted by name, with enthusiasm, and treated like friends and family. (Who knows, maybe they were!) But it just made for a warm, friendly environment. Like a good, down home kinda place... The location is in a small strip mall, and the building is old, and the restroom is located behind the water heater or something... but the restroom is nicely decorated with a homey feel. The door knob sticks, so I thought I was locked in, but it just took a firm turn to get it open. 5 stars for the service, food and friendliness!! My husband loves this place. I like it. I really wish breakfast was served longer. I have had their breakfast and it was good. Nothing fancy. Coffee is really weak and pretty much no flavor, but it was really hot.

Came back and had lunch. I had the club.... gross!!!! I was excited because they mix a BLT with chicken salad. The chicken salad tasted like sweet pickles. That's literally all I could taste. Meanwhile, my husband had one of the best burgers ever. So, this place doesn't have many good healthy options, but if your in the mood for a burger I guess this is your place. The battered fries were different and not necessarily in a bad way. I'm sure I'll be back, but I'll avoid the chicken salad and coffee.

Stopped in this morning on my way to Buford. This place is the absolute bomb! I couldn't make up my mind on what to order so decided to get a gravy biscuit with scrambled eggs and a sausage egg and cheese biscuit. The biscuits are delectable and the gravy is to die for. There are definitely no frozen biscuits or packaged gravy or powdered eggs being served here! Everything was hot, fresh, and came out very fast. The people working here are very obviously comfortable working together and they were packed with regulars that I could tell eat here often.
