Avoid their U-Haul rentals.

Rented a one way car trailer. Policy dictates they hook it up and photograph the hookup and upload to U-Haul. They did so, I loaded a vehicle and it turned out the neck of the trailer was extremely bent. See attached photo. I did not notice this, as I picked it up very late in the day and the sun was going down. I verified proper engagement of tow ball and chains and moved on.

This caused an array of issues, including either a bent hitch or tweaked frame of my pickup truck. Upon contacting U-Haul corporate they immediately admitted this based on the hookup picture uploaded by DeBono’s.

I contacted DeBono’s and was able to reach them eventually- I advised of the above issue (which caused the trailer to sway almost uncontrollably), and the trailer having a flat tire. At that point they offered a call back. When I received a call back, I was (in summary) told that I should have returned the trailer to them directly and that I would need to return it to the drop location 3 states away and they will submit the damage report to U-Haul, at which point I would essentially be blamed for the damage.

While I understand that things happen and fall through the cracks, I cannot ignore the pure stupidity and lack of care that was demonstrated when brought to their attention.

I am now left dealing with U-Hauls insurance to repair my truck, and will likely have to sue U-Haul and DeBonos to remedy the situation.

In summary- I would not rent anything from them unless you are using it locally and take full videos of the condition of the equipment on their property before...

I've been a resident of cape coral since 1998. I've rented several uhauls here, and got some great food...both the sandwiches and the meat. I haven't been back in years due to living locations in the cape over time. I saw a post on FB where Rosemary left a comment. Just moved into n our new home and came for the ribeyes. I asked for a 16 Oz (1 lb).. about an inch thick...first cut comes out. It's 0.98 lb. I was asked if that was ok...perfect!!! ....yup totally OK. Also grabbed a couple baked potatoes at the register on the way out. It's been awhile but we will probably be back once a week again. Cudos guys over the decades! Photos...

I've been going here for years ! Don and his family are the best. However, I needed air in my tires on my car. So Friday evening I called them and asked if I came in could thi was told they had a compresser and come in in the morning which was today , Saturday. Never been treated so bad in my life. If the man who helped me is family, he sure doesn't fit the bill . I handed him a $15 box of donuts and he told me i was too cheap to pay $2 for it. I'm 70 years old and am in there 5 times a week. Why was i treated like this. Served in many wars defending my country, people like this make me regret every choice I ever...
