My daughter is getting married for the first time and wanted me to go with her to pick out a dress. Itâs been many years since Iâve shopped myself and did not realize that the standard practice now days is to make an appointment to shop. I arrived before my daughter after having worked this morning. I was wearing a sweatshirt and ball cap due to the rainy weather we had earlier today and explained to the employee at the front counter that I was meeting my daughter and we would like to browse their selection of dresses. She asked if we had an appointment and I told her no, I was unaware that one was required. She looked at me and her very first question was to ask in a condescending tone what my budget was. I told her that this was our first look and we werenât sure but that I could afford any dress they sold no matter the price. She went on to explain their policy on appointments and that they could not let us look. I told her my daughter was coming from a good distance away and could we at least browse the racks to get an idea of what she may like. I told her we wouldnât require any assistance and that we would just like to look if we werenât able to try anything on. Even then we werenât allowed in the store and were told we would have to set an appointment. The young lady was not helpful or understanding at all and their customer service is awful in my opinion. We called a local competitor of theirs in Jackson and explained what happened. While they also had an appointment only policy to shop, they told us to come right over. Their store was busy with scheduled shoppers and they still took the time to help us. We ended up purchasing one there and they made my daughter feel very special. Above all else, they were kind and understood what true customer service is. The Andrew Jackson definitely doesnât get it. I would highly recommend finding your special occasion dresses elsewhere. I believe they judged my appearance and made an assumption about what I could afford and didnât want to be bothered. Too bad for them because they could have made...
Read moreDo not waste your time at The Andrew Jackson unless you want more stress to add to planning a wedding. Athena disrespects her employees by yelling at them over the phone and not training them how to properly measure. My daughterâs wedding dress came in to small and she would not alter it there I paid just as much in alterations as I paid for the dress. Then out of 9 tuxedos ordered only 2 fit. My husbands pants were to short and it took her 3 times to get them right then she used yellow thread to hem them. His white dress shirt was supposed to be long sleeve and it came in at his elbow. The other 6 guys had the same problems plus some had jackets to small and pants so long they were stepping on them. Several of the guys said Athena was so rude when they were getting fitted or picking up. I asked for her to meet me to discuss all these issues the Monday after the wedding and of course she was a no show. She did call me and was so rude and hateful on the phone. Sheâs so focused on her new business in St. Louis she doesnât care anything about this one nor her employees. We arenât the only ones that have had problems with her ask around. My daughter was so frustrated and upset the week before the wedding because of all the chaos with the tuxedos and this shouldâve been the best week of her life! I would definitely find someone else to rent tuxedos from and buy your wedding dresses unless you want to be stressed out. All of this and she never apologized or offered any money back...
Read more2 weeks ago my husband and I went here to purchase a suit jacket. At the time of purchase, measurements were taken. We were told the jacket would be delivered in 24 hours and would then be hemmed as per his measurements. The jacket was bought and paid for that day. A week goes by and we do not hear anything back from this store. The following week I call to check the status of the jacket, the jacket or purchase of or my husbandâs name could not be located đ”âđ« however that issue eventually gets resolved. The jacket however, still had not been delivered. đ My husband called yesterday as did I, still not delivered but my husband was REASSURED it would be delivered today and it was hemmed prior to leaving the store in St. Louis and it would be good to go. Great! Yet today when he picked up said jacket he was informed they donât do seamstress work on items that are purchased, only on items that are rented. What!? Do a quarter of your employees not know this?? And why would a purchase not qualify for a hem but a rental would? Why was he measured if that is your policy? Why were we told on the day of purchase that a seamstress would have it ready to go within a few days? Why was he told yesterday over the phone it would be hemmed prior to UPS delivery to the Cape store? Complete failure on this businesses...
