Ladies Room Consignment Boutique — Local services in Cape May

Having passed this boutique on several vacations I made it a point to finally stop in and check it out. I must say it was better than what I expected. The clothes were arranged neatly by size and color, which is a huge plus! I found 3 beautiful pieces of clothing to take back with me to Ohio. I can tell the owner is careful that what she puts out is unique, stylish, and in good condition. You like velvet, they had it. Sparkles and sequins, they had it. Cashmere, they had it! With that said my only complaint is that the dressing room did not have a mirror in it. Which could be an easy fix to get a mirror and attach it to a wall or back of the door. When I tried something on I had to go back into the space they had clothes to see a large mirror. It was very awkward to study a garment on myself with people all around, which most women like to really take the time to do. I may have even bought much more if I was given the privacy to do so. 2 years ago I dropped off 3 mother of the bride dresses to sell. A year went by and they called me to come get my gowns. They hadn’t sold. My girlfriend was in cape may and picked them up for me. I was shocked when she brought them to me. They were thrown, all crumped into a garbage bag. The shawl for one of the gowns was missing. And there were only 2 gowns in the bag not 3. I called the store for weeks leaving messages asking about the missing dress and shawl but no one ever called back. ATTENTION all patrons of THE LADIES ROOM CONSIGNMENT. If you google and read the reviews, you will think twice before you consign your things. The owner can be arrogant and snappy. You do not get a list of the things you brought in to consign. You just hope she is honest. For the 5 years that I associated with the owner, I had to wait for my money. She had one excuse after another. I was not local and I can’t count how many times I traveled over the bridge ( with tolls) to find no check waiting for me.
