Lovely store, but when I checked out today they prompted me for an āoptional tipā on the screen.
Updated response to owner: At a shoe store, the employees help you try on shoes. They don't prompt for tips at shoe stores. At a grocery store, an employee might help you find and fill containers from bulk bins. They don't prompt for tips at grocery stores. At a clothing store, the employees go in the back and dig around in boxes and piles for different sizes and colors, hand deliver them to the dressing room, and put other options back out onto the floor for you. They don't prompt for tips at clothing stores. N-o-b-o-d-y wants to tip at retail stores. Tipping should not be a thing at retail stores. Stop. And if you think employees deserve tips for filling jars, then you should have your employees themselves skip the tip screen for straight retail...

We came with a list, the girl working today noticed and was super encouraging and helpful, she answered any questions we had and helped us navigate the variety of products they carry. This was also our first time bringing our own jars to fill up and using their FillJoy system. I had a blast using it as it's really intuitive. It lived up to its name.
We have visited a few times now and it's always been a fun place to shop, feels good knowing we're being more eco-friendly and zero waste. They have never been pushy about why or preachy, and they simply stand behind the...

The front of shop is stocked with fun stuff like penguin dryer balls, fetching lunch boxes and fabric napkins. The back of shop is where the true magic happened for me tho. I have a dream of transitioning my family to plastic-free beauty/ hygiene routines and this place might just make it possible. High quality steel razors with replaceable blades, floss in bamboo canisters and of course, the REFILLERY. I started simply with shampoo/ conditioner, a face serum and some SPF face cream, all in glass or aluminum containers. The 2 rad young ladies working today were a huge help as I figured out how to use their system. So grateful for this inspiring, beautiful little store! She packs a...
