The Skylight Place — Local services in Capitola

Update: Paul (the owner) contacted me and really wanted to make things right. I appreciate his gesture and told him that all is good, but he needs to work on the overall process so that customer's are more informed and included in the process so that they get the end result that they anticipated. The Skylight Place is an honest and necessary local small business providing a great service to the local community and I appreciate them!

I really wanted to give a good review, but I have reservations. So here's the story, I needed a replacement sliding patio screen door for my new place and "The Skylight" was highly recommended by my realtor. They came out and measured, and I was told that they could probably match the "Forrest Green" trim to appease the HOA. So I went in and picked out and ordered the door I wanted, with much thanks to Heather, but the closest they could match on color was a slate. Then I was contacted and told by Paul that they could indeed get the door in Forrest green from another manufacturer, and at a better price, great! So a few weeks later the door is delivered, but is doesn't fit and needs to be trimmed back at the shop. So a few days later it's brought back and installed, and it fits great, however it's slate and not green! So I've got a door, but not quite the right color, and never saw a price adjustment, but I can live with it, don't need any more hassle. Thanks...

I went to the Skylight Place for a retractable screen door. They promptly responded to my house to take the measurement of my front door for the custom build. The screen was built prior to the estimated time and they even installed while I was at work since the install date was later. I paid the balance over the phone and I came home to a perfectly built and installed retractable screen door. Now, I have never posted an on-line review of a business but just had to for the Skylight Place since today my 90 pound German Shepard dog ran through the screen door. Paul and the team at Skylight were amazing. We hired them at the height of the pandemic to install new windows in our living room and two shower doors for a renovation we were undertaking. From the beginning to the end, the team made sure I was apprised of their progress. There were no delays (as was common during pandemic). They worked closely with our general contractor to make sure we were on schedule and delivered on time. The team was so detail oriented and patient, I was completely impressed.
