Reef Dog Deli — Restaurant in Capitola

I was down in Capitola pulling my buisness liscense for a roofing project. I decided before I get back on the road I will head down the street to find something to eat. I was glad I did! The owner ! Many people go into buisness, very few are in it 100% The owner was working the cash register talking to a couple of regular customers about the salads and prepackaged ready to bake/cook halibut, tritrip, chicken, pancetta wrapped with bacon stuffed with goodness. I can't do this place justice by just naming only a few of the things they sell. I advise people to try this place! YUMMY! The sandwiches are awesome along with the close knit staff. I was intrigued that the owners dog Reef was a huge influence on the owners establishment. With pictures on the wall with his dog Reef out on the waves like his owner, surfing away a day back in time. Brought the whole family here today and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and such high quality. The ahi tuna sandwich on gluten-free bread was my favorite with so many interesting flavors that combined perfectly. The vegetarian mushroom and veggie sandwich was fantastic with lots of fresh veggies. We also got a sandwich with BBQ’d chicken, also perfectly flavored. Everything was so fresh, with lots of veggies. The kids loved their grilled cheese sandwiches on sourdough - my son said it was the best one he’d ever had. They also have a great selection of unusual drinks (I got something with CBD in a can) and some yummy-looking dips. We got artichoke hummus and chimichuri which I’m excited to enjoy later. We just enjoyed the most delicious sandwiches from Reef Dog!! A Maestro , the Surf Trip and a Happy Cow. Fresh and artfully prepared with quality ingredients. The staff all care about delivering culinary perfection in every sandwich. We ordered a bowl of clam chowder and it was packed with clams and well-seasoned. We topped off our lunch with cookies that were a last minute must have since they were displayed by the register. Really tasty, with just the right treat factor!
