Decent with some items that are ocassionally hard to find, such as za'atar seasoning mixture (though not a proper mixture since the main ingredient is wheat, it was still inexpensive and probably much easier to work with by adding additional seasoning like marjoram or oregano; and I would have made my own mixture from scratch if they sold the sumac, though i might have glossed over it) and goat meat (where you can have that ordered or slabs of beef, which they seem to handle on site if you were to order from selection off the refrigerated section. I didn't get any because it wasn't particularly cheap, etc.) I know when I was inquiring about it, they seemed unable to give any elaboration or assistance, and just seemed glibly dismissive, as though they didn't want to be there despite two people standing behind registers in a somewhat empty store. The layout is particularly strange, and I seem to remember it was a different layout from previous visits (about 10 years ago,) where the registers to ring up were where the main produce and meat section sits, in order to give more space for products. The layout is all over the place when it comes to product, and this might give people incentive to shop al Al Markaz...
Read moreIndoPak is one of my go-to grocery spots in Carrollton whenever I need South Asian essentials. They carry a great selection of Indian and Pakistani products—everything from spices and lentils to frozen snacks, halal meat, basmati rice, and hard-to-find items like specific brands of masalas or sweets. It’s super convenient having it all in one place.
The store is fairly spacious and organized, and they even have a small kitchen in the back where you can grab hot food if you’re in the mood for a quick bite. The food isn’t amazing, but it gets the job done if you’re craving something desi on the go.
One of the biggest pros is that they carry Zabiha halal meat, though I’d recommend giving it a look before buying, just to make sure everything’s fresh. That part can be a bit hit or miss.
The location is good, parking is kinda tight and the staff is helpful enough, though sometimes they can be a bit rushed or matter-of-fact. Prices are fair for the specialty products they carry.
Overall, IndoPak is a reliable and convenient store if you’re looking for South Asian groceries.
we just recently moved close by so this will be our our place for Halal meat...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer of this butcher shop for many years, but I am concerned about the quality of their whole cut chicken recently. I bought two whole chickens cut up today, and each packet contained 4 legs and 4 wings, with an extraordinary number of rib pieces which is definitely sourced from other chickens. A chicken can’t be walking on 4 legs and having 4 wings ? . By the way, there was no white meat to be found! I noticed the same thing last week too!
I believe that this is a new problem that has arisen since the management change at the store. The previous management always had high standards for the quality of their meat, and I have never had a problem with their whole cut chicken before. I am disappointed that the new management seems to be more interested in cutting corners than in providing their customers with...
