Update 5/10/24: Roastery has recently been bought out by a new company and they no longer make consistent light roasts. They over roast the Ethiopian beans (taste more burnt, look darker and more oily) and no longer offer tours. This has been my go to coffee place for years, bummed to see this colossal dip in quality of coffee (hence the change to 3 stars). Unfortunately they have lost my coffee business. Service and atmosphere are still extremely positive and wonderful. ☕
Leaving my original review up for context of my previous positive experiences.
-- Beautiful coffee experience from start to finish. Truly my favorite shop in the area, and I just keep coming back!
Workers are always friendly, coffee is delicious and high quality, and the prices simply cannot be beat! I buy almost all my beans here for home coffee and frequently enjoy the BOGO rewards sales on beans. I sincerely appreciate that they offer their coffee in mugs and real water glasses! I have only been in once or twice when I couldn't get the coffee in a mug, due to a dishwasher outage.
This location does offer ample parking and also has a bike rack. They also have a Roastery tour that I have not yet completed, but seems interesting and...
Read moreI drove about 40 minutes to check this place out, and honestly, it was a big disappointment. Most coffee roasters let you sample before buying, but here they expect you to blindly purchase bagged coffee with no samples, no guidance. The girl taking my order didn’t seem knowledgeable at all, and the staff in general weren’t friendly. I even asked how can we taste coffee samples and she had no clue but obviously they do tours but she didn’t know it. They also don’t take cash like what???
When my order was ready, they just called my name and left the drinks on a rack. For a first-time visitor, that was confusing and felt impersonal. Why am I picking up my coffee like I’m grabbing a package instead of being served?
I ordered a white chocolate mocha macchiato, and it was hands down the worst coffee I’ve ever had. It was flavorless, bitter, and straight into the trash. Even my 5-year-old threw away his cake pop. That should say a lot.
Between the unfriendly service, confusing setup, lack of knowledge, and bad drinks, I literally want my money back. If this style of service and coffee is your thing, maybe you’ll like it, but it’s...
Read moreWe took a tour of the Parks Roastery. The tour was excellent and well worth the cost. The guide was very knowledgeable and kept us engaged. The reason for 1 star down is that the agreement when purchasing the tickets for the tour clearly stated, "PLEASE NOTE: All guests of the Roastery Tour must wear a mask during the duration of the tour unless participating in the coffee tasting at the end of the tour." Unfortunately, 6 of the people on the tour did not wear a mask, none in sight. It is a negative for a business to give the expectation that you will only be around people with a mask on during an indoor tour when that may or may not be the case. I recognize that many people totally disregard what businesses ask and refuse to respect the rules even if it reflects poorly on them. I just wish businesses would enforce their rules in...
