I have gone to many claw arcades, it's starting to become very popular. I've become skillful at it now but not enough to be a pro. I don't just go to win prizes, I go to have fun with my siblings. This place was clean and the employees were great, the claw machines look cool and the prizes look pretty decent. Oh and I travel to many places to see which one has the best deal in prizes and prices.
Here's a short recommendation: Go to CLAW ZANIA in Richardson, win more and feel happy! Go to Round 1 and get a better chance at winning something!
Here's my honest experience and review: I did not have fun, in fact I became so depressed that I regretted coming here because my sibling was frustrate and sad as how bad the outcome was. Pricing is ok, I took the best deal, $100 for 160 tokens. Each machine is 2 tokens per play, the popular the item then the pay would be 3 tokens or more. I do like the fact that there were difficult levels but the machines did not match the level of difficulty at all. Example, a machine on a level 2 difficulty should had been at least 3 or 4 tries to win. It took me 8 to 10 tries to win one item but it got so bad that I gave up and went to the next machine. Like I have some skills but this place doesn't allow you to use the common skills like twirling the claw, the claw doesn't let you adjust it with the twirl technique so there's no way get a good grab on any angles on the prizes. This also applies to the swing claw technique. Many of the stuffies are so clumped together that it's nearly impossible to get a hold of any limbs or heads of the stuffies. Double tapping the button won't help at all. When you do get a hold of a stuffy perfectly it will obviously let the stuff slide out. I get it's business to make a profit but there's a point where the business just becomes greedy. So when I play and count how many times the pay out ratio would be, and with skill you would have to lose 12 times in order to win 1 stuffy on that machine only. I had 160 tokens and only won 10 stuffies, I had a 6.25% chance of winning. This place is a scam, especially if you have to bribe people to leave a good review to get extra tokens, that's why there are so many 5 stars.
Claw Zania in Richardson is so much better. It's fun, my siblings have fun and have a good time, there's no bribing people with "free" tokens to leave 5 star reviews, there is a deal to eat at a BBQ chicken and get some tokens, that's a good business practice. $100 for 120 tokens, each machine is 1 token or 2 for popular items. My highest was 52 plushies my chance of winning is 43.33%. Even if I don't always win, I get to learn how to win without feeling bad or depress about myself. Heck Round 1 is better even if I have a 20%...
Read moreI am doing this review after initially reviewing in exchange for 5 free tokens. Now I feel like I can be honest about this business. I first came to the location when it was very new. I won many plushies, the machines were easy, and it was great. It even says outside that it is easy to win. Well lately, it hasn't been. I do like to think of myself as "good" at crane games, so you can imagine my feelings when, recently, I used 50 coins and didn't win anything. It seems they've changed their claw settings and it is difficult to win. They introduced valuable trade in prizes such as labubus and pokemon cards, so I imagine they needed to make it much harder to win plushies for trade in to make their money. Sure, you can ask them to move plushies around in the machine, but when they're busy, it's not easy to get their attention. The claws just don't grab, and when they do, you can clearly see the claw let go when it reaches the top. There is really no grip to most of the machines, especially the ones where the plushie is wrapped in plastic (3 coins per play, yikes).
The VIP membership would be really nice if the 10 coins per week could roll over if they don't get used. That's more enticing for people who live farther away to get the membership.
I only ask the business this: please make the claws better. When we win, we get happy, and we will come back for more. The more we lose and see the claw not even grab hold hold, the less likely we are to think it's possible to win. I go for the fun and winning. Lately it's a lot of disappointment and hearing other people notice the same things with...
Read moreNever leave bad reviews for businesses I usually just do positive reviews and move on with my life if I have a bad experience, but this place as a whole made me feel disgusted when we left. The machines aren’t set to typical claw machine strength and payout amounts they are set to auto drop at a set interval the only way to win is if you continue to play repeatedly over and over and move the prizes slowly towards the prize chute. Normally that wouldn’t be a huge problem but the settings they have for every single machine is so awful you can’t win unless the machine is stuffed to the brim and you bounce prizes in. The prizes are all Chinese knockoff prizes from taobao and aliexpress bulk bought for pennies on the dollar and the majority of the prizes you trade up for are Chinese knockoff prizes as well I wouldn’t be surprised if their main labubu prizes were fake as well. The fact I can go to round1 or any other arcade spend $100 and walk out with 15 legitimate branded very high quality Japanese plushies or figures but I can walk into nova claw and spend $150 to only win 5 knockoff prizes worth nothing is absolutely disgusting. The only reason this business has as many 5 star reviews as it does is the fact it offers 5 free tokens to play with if you give them a 5 star review which is why you see so many spammed 5 star reviews...
