Maybe the baristas were a bit heavy handed when I came, but their drinks were super sweet? In the sense, their viet coffees were the sweetest I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot in the US and in Vietnam. I do think they adjusted their sweetness lvl to fit the crowd here so it’s fair!
To be safe though, I'd recommend asking for a lower sweetness level since they do have sugar and condensed milk left out for you to add yourself. If you have older Vietnamese parents, I'd say request for no sugar/condensed milk and have them adjust later.
Also, staff were also very great! They're the only reason why I feel like I should give this place another try tbh.
For item specifics: Their hot milk phin: Was pretty good and we enjoyed the coffee taste! Egg coffee: Creamy and good color, but it was super sweet and had a very very strong vanilla taste that overpowered any coffee taste. This was sweeter and more dessert-like than an affogato. Black Phin Coffee: Regular sugar made it a coffee version of sweet iced tea Berry Banana Croffle: Tasty and cute! Again, this is probably just me personally, but since the cream on top was sweet (which is expected!), it being paired with the sweet drinks was too much. If it was made with a light whipped cream that’s more for a refreshing element than sweetness, I think it would taste...
Read moreEDIT/REPLY: I just asked for a bit more regular milk in my coffee, not a latte, which is about 70% milk! All I wanted was a little more milk in my coffee, not a completely different drink. I hope you can see the difference. Being stingy with a splash of milk doesn’t make sense. It wouldn’t hurt your business to be a little more generous!!! And it seems like I’m not the only one, looks like other people here are saying the same thing.
——— I really like their coffee, but I hate how little they give you when you ask for light ice. I prefer light ice because too much ice waters down the coffee and changes the taste. When I ordered a large, I asked if they could fill the cup with more coffee. They told me the amount of coffee is fixed and measured, so that’s all they can give. I understood the policy, but it still doesn’t make sense to get barely more than half a cup when you’re paying for a large.
When I ask for light ice at other coffee shops, they always give you a full cup of coffee. That’s just common sense. I also asked if they could add some regular milk since I ordered a regular black coffee, and he poured in the tiniest splash, literally. That was ridiculous. I was so annoyed, but I took the coffee anyway since I had already driven 17 miles to get there. Their coffee is good, but the portion isn’t worth it especially for the price. I’ll be looking for another coffee...

Another amazing visit to Trung Nguyen! I’ve already shared how much I love this place, but they keep raising the bar. The coffee is hands-down the best Vietnamese brew I’ve had—rich, bold, and deeply satisfying. What really stood out this time was the gesture of bringing the coffee right to our table. It’s such a small thing, but it speaks volumes about their hospitality.
I had a wonderful experience at Trung Nguyen, not just because of their amazing coffee but also because of their exceptional customer service. After ordering my coffee, I accidentally spilled it all over the table. Without hesitation, the staff noticed and immediately stepped in not only cleaning up the mess with kindness and efficiency but also offering me a replacement coffee at no charge.
Their generosity and attentiveness made what could have been an embarrassing moment into one of genuine appreciation. On top of that, the coffee itself was fantastic rich, smooth, and exactly what I needed. The welcoming atmosphere and their dedication to great service have truly won me over. I highly recommend Trung Nguyen to anyone looking for a place with great drinks and even...
