First things first, I ordered the wrong dress color based on the thread color which was hard to charge based on the comparatively small surface area and the lighting. The dress was lighter than what I had envisioned. It turned out to be a baby pink instead of a light mauve which may seem slight but it was important to me. Luckily, the baby pink shade still looked flattering against my skin tone.

Secondly, I was very disappointed that I did not receive a call, email, text, or DM while the dress was being designed overseas. No sample was sent which is really unusual for a custom dress and irritating for such a high ticket wedding expense ($2400).

Third, I think Ruby can be a bit assertive and my husband felt like she was trying to pressure him into buying a matching sherwani that matched my gown. She did not seem to take his input into account and seemed overzealous with her vision for his outfit. This approach may work for consumers who have no idea what they’re looking for and need direction but it was not the best approach for us (and especially him).

With all that being said...my husband, bridal party, and wedding guests all said the dress still turned out gorgeous. It was exactly the design, cut, and fabric I wanted. Ruby Bhandari helped me make sure the customizations I was looking for were available with the factory/warehouse she worked with in India. This dress originally in a dusty blue color but I was able to make these changes: change color of fabric, portrait back, stitched & draped net dupatta, sweetheart neckline, fitted cap sleeve, pink embroidery, silver embellishments and sequins, gold embroidered sleeves to match border of skirt. In hindsight, I wish I had added more fullness to my bridal dress but I wanted it light enough so I could still dance and party during our wedding day. Rishika at Silk Threads was very sweet and communicative via Instagram.

I ordered my dress on January 19th and it arrived on April 3rd which was only 10 days before our wedding. So to help you with the math, I waited 2.5 months/10.5 weeks/74 days. I was able to have my fitting done one week prior to our wedding and their in-house tailor was able to have the dress within in a a few days. Their tailor worked very quickly so I was very impressed with that.

All in all, I’m happy with my dress and the quality of the dress. I feel that Ruby made a strong effort to make my wedding dress dream come true and so happy we made the memories while wearing my custom Silk...

My wife and I went to this place (based on the stellar google reviews) for our wedding related shopping. Now it seems that the reviews we saw could be fake. Not sure why it took me so long in writing this review, but here it is. Ruby is not a fashion designer or a professional. She markets the clothing in her store as her own designs but if you look at the tags, you can trace them back to some store in India.

My wife ordered her wedding dress at this store and with all the measurements taken by Ruby, we still had to get it altered 3 times before the wedding. The kicker was that several stitches on the wedding dress failed on the day of our wedding and my wife was in tears. Somehow the dress was held together with pins and temporary fixes and the wedding went on. The dress was not even close to the exorbitant price that Ruby charged for it. For my sherwani, alterations were needed and Ruby’s opinion was that there is some issue with my shoulders because the sherwani was perfect...I still laugh at that one!

Ruby lied to me that my footwear is going to come from India. She took the measurements (premeditated drama) and I waited for it for a month, and 3 days before my wedding Ruby pretended that I don’t remember what I ordered for footwear and her staff tried to sell me something that I had rejected before. All this happened after the bill was paid in advance. I had to get a refund from Ruby for the footwear but that refund did not solve my problem 3 days before the wedding. The bottom line is that you cannot trust Ruby on the quality of clothing and the quoted timeline for delivery. I do not recommend this store to anyone!!

We've been to our fair share of other Indian Fashion Boutiques in search of Wedding Apparel on many occasions and have been less than satisfied due to factors like quality for the price or ability to deliver on their time commitments, all of which matter when you buy Clothing and Apparel for auspicious occasions.

When you visit Silk Threads contrary to the beliefs of a few reviews historically provided here on Google, you will find that personal touch that Ruby and her Crew all possess in getting you that right outfit for that right look. They take the time to elicit their expertise and professional experiences to ensuring customer's satisfaction. I've read a few people's reviews on here who have mentioned pricing in their reviews and I'll just leave it with this to say, "You'll get a better quality Apparel that you'd more than likely end up wanting to wear on multiple occasions and not just for the occasion you intended to purchase for."

Ruby and her Crew are very accommodating to their customers regardless of whether they're in a busy period or otherwise. You mind end up waiting longer times in the stores but the quality of service and Apparel you'll end up with will more than make...
