While the farmers market in general was conveniently located, and seemed to had a good variety of items to choose from... I was left with a bad taste in my mouth after purchasing a couple dozen tamales from the stall “Tamales Over Texas.”

The taste of the tamales themselves were just kind of meh... you could tell with the chicken tamales that they really relied on the meat filling to provide flavor, and that’s just not how tamale masa is supposed to be. Not to mention I didn’t really taste much in the meat filling and the meat itself had a rubbery consistency. I would recommend they use some of the broth from cooking the meat to form the dough itself, which will aid in providing flavor.

Furthermore, for the price the tamales were just very small. They were thin in fact, and that doesn’t seem in line with the tamale stall I visited in the past at this farmer’s market. Given the lack of flavor I would have at least expected them to be a little larger in size. For reference I purchased the traditional pork tamales and chicken tamales, with the House red salsa. It’s kind of hard to mess up those simple recipes.

All in all I was disappointed with my experience and would recommend people to avoid the tamale stand but explore...

Neat little artisan market at the strip mall by Petco. They had booths with fruits and veggies, meads, soaps, CBD, plants, artwork, candies and deliciousness, crafts, and all sorts of fun things to discover. They had a couple food trucks as well. One being Cousins Maine Lobster famous for bring on Shark Tank. They are not there every week though. The lobster roll sandwiches are $22. I didn't try one. But this market is definitely worth the stop to at least browse. Most likely you'll buy something. I bought amazing tangerines and onions as well as some delicious chocolate covered marshmallows dipped in crushed graham crackers...

Love visiting this market! The name fits perfectly, Artisans Market! There are a lot of great vendors here! For food/dessert options you can find great cinnamon rolls, carnival cakes, bbq (Noonies), and quesadillas! Health and wellness: Sea moss, yes sea moss! (CoreLyfe Naturals) By far the best quality on the market! And a great source of Honey (Rowdy Bees) try the cinnamon! and CBD products! You will not be disappointed! There are always great finds here! The candle company (Lewisville Co) has really great candles! Better than bath and body works! You will not be disappointed! Definitely check...
