It would have been nice to be acknowledged by the many staff members who were there when we walked in but that's all fine. But to not be acknowledged for a good 3-4 minutes while there were two tables with customers in the entire place, and then not be seated for another couple of minutes while some of the workers were twiddling their thumbs behind the bar was a little painful to be honest. Half of our table's order was good and the other half was bad. I will cut to the chase and say don't get their loaded breakfast bowl. It had an ocean of oil sitting at the bottom of the bowl. Every time I took a bite I felt like I was eating spoonfuls of oil from a warmed up pan. The dish also had tons of old and dry green onion as garnish and it just didn't work for me. I did end up sending this back but service was so slow that I didn't get to replace it. Ended up just having a protein shake I brought from home. The chicken crepes were good, though. The crepes had a nice texture, it wasn't falling apart. The chicken and veggies were cooked well and the spicy sauce on top had a tiny little kick that was just perfect. It also came with potatoes and toast on the side which were also good. The most important thing that brought us back here was the coffee bar with unlimited refills and THAT was worth it. They had seven flavors total - two of those were decaf and one was a dark roast. It is October and they brought out their holiday blend coffee which I highly recommend. Some other flavors they had were Brazil select, bourbon pecan (reg and decaf), snickerdoodle, holiday blend (also in a decaf), and Kilimanjaro dark. We sat outside and the tables were pretty old and gross looking but I guess that happens sometimes. The waitress was not really around and we were never even told about the seasonal menu that was posted on a board inside. That was disappointing to find out later as we checked out but I guess it will bring us back to try it next time. Generally I still recommend this place because although the food may be hit or miss, their coffee bar is really fun and worth it. Not to mention the quirky feel of the place and plentiful amounts of parking. *Don't forget to ask for a to-go cup and grab yourself that one last cup of coffee of your choice...
Read moreMy kids (16, 14, 12) and I eat here fairly regularly. They typically only have 1 server on the weeknights, but it's rarely an issue. Unfortunately not tonight. When we arrived, there was 1 other family already there and already eating. The waitress came to take our drink order, and only listened to mine and then walked away, bringing everyone the drink I requested. Three of her friends showed up and they chit chatted by the coffee for a while. After about 10 min, she finally came to take our order. After about another 10 min, a couple walked in and their order was taken in a reasonable amount of time. They received their food promptly. The other table ordered dessert and received it. 45 minutes had passed and our food had still not arrived. The waitress didn't once come to check on us, refill drinks, etc. She just hung around the counter twirling her hair. Every time she came out, she didn't even look in our direction for me to get her attention. So I went to the counter to ask her for an update on our food. She twirled her hair and shrugged her shoulders. After another several minutes, the manager comes out and gives me some excuse about their computer not working (but it worked for everyone else), and told me I could leave or he could make us food. I told him we would just wait for the food since it shouldn't take that much time for pancakes to come out. Another 10ish minutes later and they brought food, not what we ordered, scrambled eggs were runny and had shells in them, other things were over cooked or just not at all what was ordered. What really gets me, though, is that the manager verbally apologized, but his attitude was the complete opposite and acted like I was in the wrong for asking about our food. We arrived at 5:45 and didn't receive food until about 7pm. There were only 2...

Time: 11:45 a.m.
Today, I had a highly disappointing experience at Café Brazil. I arrived promptly at 11:45 a.m., looking forward to enjoying a cup of coffee and a pleasant meal. However, my visit was marred by the subpar service I received.
Upon entering the café, I was made to wait for approximately 10 minutes, standing in line, just to receive some cream for my coffee. Despite my repeated attempts to request it from three different waiters, my pleas fell on deaf ears. The lack of attention and responsiveness from the staff was disheartening.
After the prolonged wait, the food finally arrived. Unfortunately, one of the dishes I had ordered was missing, and it was not brought to our table until after everyone else had finished their meals. It was frustrating to see such a lack of coordination and efficiency in the restaurant's operations.
When I asked to speak with the manager, someone claiming to be the "assistant manager" appeared instead. Their appearance was unprofessional, dressed in a rather unkempt manner. It was disappointing to see someone in a position of authority not upholding the expected standards.
Upon explaining the situation to the assistant manager, they dismissively brushed off my concerns. They sarcastically remarked that the waitstaff's primary duty was attending to tables, rather than tending to the coffee area. Their condescending attitude and lack of empathy only added to my dissatisfaction.
Overall, my experience at Café Brazil today was far from satisfactory. The lack of attentiveness, coordination, and the dismissive attitude displayed by the assistant manager left a sour taste in my mouth. I had hoped for a more pleasant dining experience, but unfortunately, that was...
