The people working here are perfectly nice. I enjoyed the movie, and the resrooms were clean. The D-Box motion chair I sat in was dirty and smelly. No longer does the public theater hold my interest.
Black streaks of filth covered over half of the place I am supposed to snuggle into for a couple hours. Plus the chairs have a sweaty butt odor that is reminiscent of an outdoor festivals outhouse. Not pleasant to sit in for a few hours.
The attendant offered to move us to other chairs that are cleaner, but they were all in some degree of terrible filth. The best seats in the middle for viewing, were the worse with black strips of maybe gum rubbed across the top of the seat cushion followed by the very end of the row seats smeared second worse.
I was told they clean the normal leather seats after every movie. But the D-Box chairs are a kind of lease and the theater is not allowed to re-upolster or damage by cleaning the physical motion seats.
Star Wars was a good movie, but the chair and environment I had to endure in order to see it in the theater was not worth the risk/benefit analysis any more.
Bye bye public theaters, home theater is indeed same or better in every way now. Not even DBox can bring my money out if I am asked to sit in filth.
He shone his theatre light on each D-Box seat so I could find the two least filthy chairs. We sat in between where the visible streaks of filth and obvious odor was not as severe.
We eventually settled down to watch Star Wars, but every little itch worried me about bedbugs the...
Read moreHonestly getting sick of seeing movies here. I've now been to multiple different screens that have numerous dead pixels. It's extremely distracting and for somewhere that tries to sell themselves off as a luxury experience it really isn't. Not every room has luxury recliners either. Last night I saw Bring Her Back, a slow atmospheric horror movie. It's a movie that asks the viewers to pay attention to every detail. Across the hall the UFC fight was showing. The staff left both doors open so I could literally hear Joe Rogan commentating the fight while I was trying to watch a horror movie. It was so loud at first I thought people were actually fighting in the lobby. I had to get up and close the door myself. The owner of the theater loves to plaster his face over everything with messages like "we care about giving a luxury experience", but then he hires a bunch of high-schoolers and probably pays them minimum wage while overworking them so these are the experiences you get. I saw the new Final Destination movie a couple weeks ago and there were teenagers talking the entire time and at one point they put their feet up on my headrest. Every other Galaxy and century in town has ushers that come in multiple times during the showing, this one doesn't so behavior like this isn't punished. It's ridiculous when you are paying over $15 for one movie ticket to get this kind of service. My recommendation would be to drive to the summit sierra Century...
Read moreI just got back from taking my grandchildren to the movies. I was expecting to pay 6.50 because it was Tuesday. When I went to pay the lady said the 6.50 price didn't apply because we going to see a movie in the upgraded seating. I pointed to the sign saying Tuesday's were 6.50 all day with a galaxy rewards card. I had the card but was informed to read the fine on the poster that said (in really small letters) that because the show was playing in the theatre with new seats that I card wasn't good in that theatre. I am highly disappointed that they put up a poster with big letters saying when using the card on Tuesday that all shows are 6.50 all day. The part that said except in certain theatres this does not apply was written in letters to small to see. This tells me that you are cheating your customer by putting the wording in such small letters as to make them hard to see. Just because you are adding new seats shouldn't change the price of tickets on Tuesday. They don't seem effect the price of buying your ticket any other day. Unless this problem is address, I feel I can not and will not support a company that uses small print to charge me more just because you want to compete with other theatres by making your theatre more comfortable for your patrons. Well is one patron that will seek other theatres that don't use small print to show the true cost of going to...
