Southern Cove — Local services in Cartersville

As Stated from My Husband Mikey! THIS was the worst experience, and being we went to another spot downtown before hand with friends and we didn't order a drink because we both wanted to support the cove with the slushies as they are usually our go to spot! Not being served sober wasn't even the worst part! THE DISRESPECT and the fact she couldn't even speak to me and only to my husband like i wasnt there was DOWN RIGHT RUDE! I always HIGHLY recommend this place for my favorite shopping location for our air bnb, local top Cartersville favorites But if you like being talked to respectfully this is not the place for you! Im usually not the one to leave a review and try and look at things for the better but THIS WAS ABSOLUTLEY MANNERLESS especially from someone who works in customer service! PLEASE RETHINK HOW YOU TREAT OTHERS IF YOUR GOING TO BE A MANAGER!!!!!!!

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE....On a night out with the misses(Saturday 5/17/25) we decided to stop by and grab one of their slushies from the bar. After waiting in line for about 20mins or more we finally reached the bar and were met with nothing but disrespect.

After requesting my wife's drink choice I was told they were out of it and asked her what she wanted in it's place to only be met with the utter disrespect of the bar staff. She informed me that she did not feel comfortable serving her. This was a statement made to me as the bartender did not even look at my wife after making this statement. Being that we had just got downtown and had not had anything to drink all day we were naturally perplexed, so I asked what did she mean by not comfortable serving her. The bartender then informed me that she thought my wife was drunk due to the fact that she was holding my hand and leaning on me while waiting in line, again for 20 minutes or more.

Needless to say this did not sit well with either of us as we had seen numerous people come and go while waiting in line that were stumbling and more than likely did not need to be served anymore but had no problems getting more alcohol.

As a local from Cartersville who does not get to go out much this night should have been a good time for the wife and I to enjoy the local downtown area, but ended up being a total bust and since this is where we started left both of us very upset about how probably the only 2 sober people in the building were treated.

I guess the staff is just used to seeing and over supplying people with alcohol and did not know or understand how to deal with people who were not drunk.

This was one of my favorite shops downtown and the bar was a nice bonus, however after the disrespect from the staff and who I was told was the bar manager that evening we will not be coming back and will continue to let everyone I know in the area as well as people visiting that I would not recommend this establishment due to their lack of professionalism and disrespect towards...

I am aware that it was a busy night, but that is something you all were aware of as well and think you would have been more prepared for a more than usual night and been better staffed.

The wait time was not my main concern, it was the disrespect of your staff that has left us less than satisfied with your establishment.

As far as your staff being trained to ensure everyone's safety and not being over served in my opinion this is something that you all have FAILED at. While waiting in line we seen numerous amounts of people stumbling in and acting iritic that had no problems being served.

I appreciate your apology but honestly hope this gives you a little more insight on how your operation is currently being ran and can be used as a learning/training...

Happened upon this place last weekend during a travel baseball tournament. Fell in love with the atmosphere and the summer mixed drink specials. After a brutally hot baseball game today in the area, we decided to come back and have some more of our new favorite mixed drinks.

This place understands customer service. They understand the value of repeat customers. Even though they are locals, they don’t shun us out-of-towners that make this area our home away from home every summer because of baseball tournaments.

Appreciate the environment they have created within their location. We will continue to bring our baseball families with us to partake in perfect drinks (even if the owner has to get involved to make sure they taste just right), adorable gifts, and customer service that makes you feel like you have known them all for years.

Thanks for taking care of our small group tonight. We will be back…y’all are the best! 💜⚾️
