I revoke my permission to use my photo in any instance on this page and demand that it be removed IMMEDIATELY or face legal action for using photos of me without permission. Here is my actual review of this business's morally bankrupt practices. Attempts to remove this review will violate my first amendment right to freedom of speech, as would physically blocking me from this page. Customers and future employees have the right to hear how people are treated by this organization. In the entire year that I was here, I oftentimes had to make a conscious attempt not to overhear members of management 'whispering' behind my back about me. While you may argue that I could have done something to deserve it, whispering about other employees isn't the proper way to address anything and is simply unprofessional... But as you will see, that's one of many ways that this business is just that. I have also witnessed them bragging about how they can fire somebody in a way that will prevent them from having to pay unemployment to any former employees, even if they were terminated simply because the store manager was jealous of them (as she tends to be of everyone, at some point. Even her own daughter doesn't receive proper treatment).. Anyhow, they are confident that they can just tell the unemployment office that they "don't have hours for them on the schedule" and that will keep them from having to compensate anyone for their unethical treatment or termination. While this may be completely legal and within the law, it is highly inappropriate and morally wrong. To continue to contribute to this business would be to condone such behavior. I have never seen a manager attempt to blame slow business days or low sale numbers on one member of management or say that it was because "of bad customer service" when more often than not, the previous negative reviews on the page are about the store manager alone and nobody else. I was also just contacted by the manager via text message about posting this review for no reason other than to instigate the situation as if the way that I was mistreated wasn't already enough. I advised her that attempts to contact me would be documented and filed as harassment. There is blatant sexism as well at this organization as they have stated that they refuse to hire men because they feel they aren't capable of doing the job. That's discrimination. During my employment there, they have employed at least 10 different women who have left because of the conditions or been "pushed" into quitting by one member of management or another who simply didn't like them or was jealous of them. I have already left a message with Angie at the OUAC corporate office and would be pleased to contribute my input in order to rectify their unprofessional and unethical treatment of customers and staff.
Bravo, I hope you are satisfied with the fact that you've successfully gotten rid of a good manager/employee based on lies and slander and the fact that I have been stalked and harassed for the last 2 weeks by an individual who makes multiple fake reviews with multiple different fake accounts and calls to make fake slanderous claims. To anyone who has ever been a victim of such things, then I would not recommend that you shop here. They are evidently not very nice people, and I'm not the first person to realize it, seeing as every other negative review (that wasn't fake) was about the store manager. If anyone ever has the misfortune of having to deal with this in their everyday lives, then please send me a message. There are caring individuals out there who will be understanding of what has happened. Do not allow people to make you a victim. #lifeafterouac Thank you fake reviewers, and fake callers. You've sent me free of a business that doesn't deserve me. Love you so much, K. Seriously, I cannot thank you...

I have accompanied someone else several times, it's not exactly me who should pay or I should be the one who provides my information. But I am very analytical and observant at all times when it comes to customer service. Don't want to discredit this review.
I went several times hoping that one day would be better than another. Sometimes with friends and other times with family and hoping that the treatment would be different when they took their things to sell or buy. I went at various times and days and they will not locate me for these reasons. But I repeat: do not try to discredit my comment.

This review is honest, please read carefully before coming to this Cary location whether to buy or sell. The people who work here are despots and look at you contemptuously, I am referring to those who apparently are "helpers" and also the cashiers and of course the two ladies who seem to be the bosses or managers who look at you over their shoulders. The feeling that all of them give you is something like if you don't deserve to be in their store. When they serve you they are not friendly and just make a face. When you take your clothes to sell, be prepared! Well, they will despise your clothes and offer you a pittance of money. Yeah! a pittance because they have very high prices on clothing in such a way that one as a customer realizes that it is more convenient to go to target for new clothes! I brought good clothes to sell and they did the same thing to me as others: they returned your things in a shocking way. and you even regret having brought your things. Because neither a smile nor good manners show you enough to cushion the contempt for your presence in that place. Better to definitely take your money somewhere else where you don't feel used and assaulted or at least..... a place where they show you that you are welcome. PS don't trust the good comments, many times they come from themselves to support the rating in...
Read moreI'm a mother of a 1 & 3 year old who's been coming to Once Upon A Child since before my oldest was born. I've been to many consignment shops and the prices and service here are second to none. Having two so young can make shopping difficult. For that reason, I love the fact that I can actually get a refund here and not just store credit(i.e. Kid2Kid). I can pick all the things I like, purchase them, and try them on my children at home without feeling rushed or wondering if this new shirt will go with my daughter's pants I have at the house. Then, whatever I don't want I can bring back with no problems.
Staff: The staff at the store is very warm. While I was pregnant, they insisted on helping me load my car. Though I understand it can be challenging working with people, everyday, they always seem cheerful when I come in. They greet me & my family, and when I'm there without my kids or my husband, they ask about them. I feel like they've grown with us, almost like they care about us personally...not like we're just another customer.
Selection/Price: I've been to Kid to Kid in Apex & Cary, as well as the Raleigh Once Upon A Child and their prices are all higher that the Cary location. In all the time I've been shopping there, it is a very rare time, I don't find what I'm needing when I go there to shop.
Policies: One of the things I love is when I bring in my items to sell, I get taken care of the same day!! I'M ACTUALLY GETTING PAID WHILE I SHOP!!! At other stores, I've run into either not being able to complete the sell that day or being limited to certain days or hours that they actually buy your clothes. The return policy I mentioned above is one that keeps me coming back.
Conclusion: I would definitely recommend this store to someone that isn't looking to spend a fortune to dress their kids in nice clothes, with the kind of return policy you would expect at a full price...
