Read moreMy daughter and fiancée were going to use Big Mike’s to cater their wedding which was supposed to be 4/26/24. After almost 5 yrs together her fiancée came back from his bachelor trip and broke up with her and cancelled the wedding. We immediately reached out to all involved in the wedding/reception etc. we asked Big Mike’s to refund the deposit since it was 60 days from the wedding. We had previously been told you could get a refund if they hadn’t ordered the food. The total stated that $4134.72 was due 4/12/24 and this occurred 2/26/24. My daughter, however, paid over $2067.30 towards the event. Initially , Robin called us back and said she had talked with Mike and because April and October were the busiest months that theywould give us a credit toward any future events. We stated that we don’t have any other occasions events with 180 people coming up and we wanted our deposit back as that is what we were told and there is no date stating anything need to be paid before 4/12/24 and there was nothing in the contract stating that the money was non-refundable. We have all emails and invoices and nowhere in the contract/invoice does it say you can’t get your deposit back or any cancellation time frame. My husband called Big Mike’s and asked to talk to Robin anonymously and was told you could get your money back if event cancelled up until food ordered/ 5 days before the event. We requested Mike call us and asked that he speak to my husband and I to discuss and provided both phone numbers. We stated they plan weddings 6 months out and if he could re-book the day he would see what he could do. After discussing the details with him and stating the contract didn’t state this and we would take them to small claims court and the above discussions with Robin, he refused to add my husband to the call and when I tried to do so he hung up on me and has since refused our calls. We have since taken him to small claims court and won however he keeps claiming he can’t pay her the money he owes because he doesn’t have it so 15 months later and having to have the sheriff continuing to go to his business to reserve him. Want to share with our community and warn others . Don‘t plan an event with this company unless you plan to lose out on all your money should an...
Big Mikes BBQ in Cary, NC is hands down one of the best barbecue joints I have ever visited. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality from the friendly staff.
Let's talk about the food, the ribs at Big Mikes BBQ are nothing short of phenomenal. Every bite was an explosion of smoky, tender, and flavorful goodness. They were cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of unique seasoning and a mouthwatering barbecue glaze. I can confidently say that these are some of the best ribs I've ever had the pleasure of eating.
But it doesn't stop there—the brisket at Big Mikes BBQ is equally outstanding. The meat was incredibly juicy and tender, with a rich smoky flavor that left me craving for more. Each bite melted in my mouth, and the seasoned bark on the outside added a delightful crunch. The brisket truly showcased the skill and expertise of the pitmasters at Big Mikes BBQ.
Now, let's talk about their unique smoked potato salad. This twist on a classic dish is absolutely delightful. The combination of smoky potatoes, and a creamy dressing creates a flavor profile that is both comforting and exciting. It's the perfect accompaniment to their mouthwatering barbecue.
I must also mention the BBQ Egg rolls and relish that Big Mikes BBQ offers. These rolls are a game-changer. Plus, the relish adds an extra layer of flavor and tanginess to the already delicious app. It's a match made in barbecue heaven!
Overall, my experience at Big Mikes BBQ was exceptional. The friendly staff, amazing ribs, mouthwatering brisket, and unique smoked potato salad all contribute to an unforgettable dining experience. Whether you're a barbecue aficionado or just someone looking for a fantastic meal, Big Mikes BBQ is an absolute must-visit. You won't be...
Read moreI eat at the Creekside location in Apex. AKA Big Mike's stands out for the consistently excellent quality of their meats and sides. A 'must try' for any 'cue aficionado!! I've been a number of times now, haven't tried everything, but here's the rundown: appetizer chicken wings are cosmic: smoked, rubbed and flash fried, still juicy and savory but not at all greasy, and you can even try just one for $1.50. You'll want more. Cutting to the chase: the chopped pork simply could not be better, for real. Succulent and moist, wood smoked of course, some 1/2 inch chunks remain as it has not been chopped to smithereens. I avoid sandwiches everywhere, not a bread fan, and recommend the plate servings, very generous. House BBQ sauce on the table is fine, doesn't overwhelm the meat. The slow smoked brisket also rocks, juicy and succulent but for pure 'WOW!' on Tues and Thurs only they serve bite size chunks of brisket ends that can be either sandwich or plate and are melt in your mouth tender and juicy and must be tried to be believed. I think they're called burnt ends, but I call them food of the gods. The blue cheese slaw has just enough cheese to accent the shredded tender slaw, collards are terrific, green beans have cruch and snap, not overcooked and just the right garlic/butter accent; smoked potato salad has real punch for the big appetite, house made cornbread has taste and texture. I haven't needed to try the other sides or had room for banana pudding, but veggie sides are a great option for the vegetarian friend! Oh, of course this is a craft beer mecca as well, with 10 varieties on the board and way more bottled as well. I'd skip the 'egg roll' style app - only tried it once, kind of filling and there's too much that tops it. Service is attentive and prompt, place is casual,...
