Summary: waited and waited and waited for food that was terrible.

We walked over here after learning of a long wait at Tyler's Taproom because we were hungry and wanted to see if the new place might be worth it. Mistake.

Right away there was obvious poor communication on the part of the staff. One girl said she could seat us almost immediately once a table was cleaned. Thirty seconds later a guy said "I don't know if she told you otherwise, but it's going to be 5 or 10 minutes." Two minutes later we followed the girl to a table and watched her wipe it off and were seated.

It was several minutes before we were greeted by a server who couldn't recite the tap list and left to retrieve it. We asked for a few minutes to review the beer list before ordering but asked for water for the time being. He was gracious enough to ask if lemon should be included. He disappeared for 10 minutes. We ordered an appetizer and each a beer upon his return and waited another 10 minutes for the beer and 10 after that for the nachos. That's right, 10 minutes for a beer, and 20 minutes for nachos.

The nachos were unenjoyable. What was termed "santa fe chicken" was diced chicken in some sort of greenish cream sauce. The nachos were practically swimming in this sauce which had absolutely no flavor. I couldn't believe it, zero flavor at all, burned chips and not a very generous serving for $9.50.

I ordered the ribs and my wife ordered the triple decker sandwich. 30 minutes later, we asked the girl who seated us what the delay was on my wife's second beer and our entrees. The entrees then immediately came and we were told they were changing the keg so we said to forget the beer. (How long would it have taken to tell us half an hour ago they were changing the keg so as to give us a chance to change our order?)

On the menu the triple decker was listed as white or wheat bread. It came on buttered texas toast - never a choice my wife would select, and the deli turkey used was of a poor tasting quality. My wife said it was salty and not very good. She did enjoy her potato salad on the side. As for my dish, the cole slaw was actually quite good, but the ribs were practically inedible. Out of a half-rack of approximately 10 ribs, I think I ate 3. The problem? An overwhelming flavor of salt and some other nondescript seasoning. I'm not certain if the "rub" they used simply had too much salt in it and they used too much of it, or if it had been coated in meat tenderizer (which is what it tasted like), but it was terrible. Quality pork ribs cooked well hardly need seasoning at all, why the need to salt it so much as to be inedible?

In all, we spent nearly three times as much time waiting as eating, and the food was (with the exception of the sides of potato salad and cole slaw) dreadful. We...

We really wanted to like the Corner Tavern & Grill... but alas, our visit this past Monday evening was a total bust!

Our first visit a few back, was great.. My Wife, Daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic Hot Wings, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches and best onion rings ever! We thought that we had found our new little place to go.

Monday night however, well that was a different story! We arrived about 6:00pm and there were only 3 tables with people inside. But there was about 15 more people that immediately followed after we sat down. A bit of a crush for the one and only waitress working (who, btw, really did a great job considering that the rest of the Staff really let Her, and us, down).

We were there a good 10 minutes before She (the new Blond-haired young lady), was able to take our order. My Wife ordered the Fish and Chips, My Daughter and Son ordered the Philly Cheese Steaks, with Fries/Onion Rings, and I, the Hot Wings that I had enjoyed so much on the previous visit.

For the next 45 minutes, we contemplated getting up and leaving.. several times. Despite that it is a violation of law to smoke in a restaurant, we were getting smoked out !!! There was a side door only a few booths away from us that opens to an outdoor patio. And that night, there were several people (idiots that want to die a premature death), that kept going out for a quick smoke. But because it was cold outside, they would stand right outside the door, allowing for a lot of cigarette smoke to come in, every time the door opened, which was quite often!

But we stay, and the food arrives. (45 minutes later) It is obvious that my wings had been done a long time ago, as they were cold. My Son's first comment when He saw His sandwich was" "where's the beef"? Was about as much on it as you get at the Subway... which is not a lot of meat. But, the onion rings and fries were hot.

My Wife's Fish was Raw in the middle, but She never mentioned this to me until we were almost finished. She by nature is way too passive to complain about food or service. I immediately called our waitress over and had Her take the fish back to the kitchen to show the staff what they had concocted!

The young lady was kind enough to remove the charges for the Raw Fish and the cold-hot wings, but I can assure the owner of this failure, that we will NOT return! Even if not for the ill-made food, but We have no desire to sit in a smoke-filled dining...

There were three adults and two children in our party. We were the only table there. The table upon arrival was covered in food and we wiped it down, the server just placed the menus on the table. We were asked if we wanted a drink, I had water and she walked away…my husband wanted beer, she came back ten minutes later and asked if he wanted something. Our food was ordered and the kids food came first, which was ok, two burgers were ordered, one medium, one medium well, the medium well burger came out next, then after that was delivered my salad came five minutes later then we were told the medium burger would be a couple of minutes…that turned into ten minutes. The rest of us were almost done eating when I had to ask the waitress if she could check on the burger….she was on her phone the whole time we were in there. We also had to get our own silverware and we didn’t get drink refills, the burger that was medium that took a total of fifteen minutes longer came out medium well also….first off..people go to dinner to eat together, not staggered. Second, how does a medium well burger come out before a medium burger? This was our first time here and will be our last. I have been a server and a restaurant manager and the owners should really take a look at this review and I agree with some other reviews, the inside definitely needs a makeover, the booths are cracked and it seems ran down, however good service and good food can over rule that any day….The fact that the server wasn’t concerned at all with how the food came out and only cared about sitting at the table on her cell phone says a whole lot. Of it had been busy, I understand an order being dropped, however, there wasn’t anyone else in there. The server could’ve at least stood in the kitchen on her phone. A good server would’ve been more concerned with her customers than her phone. Very disappointing and not at all worth...
