Title: An Unforgettable Culinary Adventure at Kathmandu Kitchen!
Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My recent visit to Kathmandu Kitchen was an absolute delight! From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm smiles and a cozy ambiance that instantly made me feel at home. The restaurant's authentic Nepalese cuisine and impeccable service left a lasting impression on me.
Let's start with the star of the show—the Chicken Thukpa. This traditional Nepalese noodle soup was a burst of flavors that awakened my taste buds. The tangy broth infused with aromatic spices was the perfect balance of warmth and zest. What truly made it outstanding was the addition of tender fried chicken, which soaked up the flavors of the soup and added an extra layer of deliciousness. Each spoonful was a delightful journey that left me craving for more!
Another dish that stole my heart was the Chili Chicken Momo. These bite-sized dumplings were a work of culinary art. The thin layer of dough was expertly wrapped around a succulent meat stuffing that oozed with juiciness. The balance of flavors was spot-on, with a tantalizing blend of spices that left a delightful heat lingering on my palate. It was a truly heavenly experience that showcased the chef's mastery of Nepalese cuisine.
Aside from the exceptional food, the service at Kathmandu Kitchen was second to none. The staff was attentive, friendly, and eager to accommodate any special requests. They went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was exceptional, providing recommendations and answering any questions I had about the menu.
The restaurant itself exudes a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The decor beautifully captures the essence of Nepal, with vibrant colors and traditional elements that transport you to the heart of Kathmandu. Whether you're dining alone, with friends, or with family, Kathmandu Kitchen provides a comfortable space to enjoy a memorable meal.
Overall, my experience at Kathmandu Kitchen was nothing short of extraordinary. The Chicken Thukpa and Chili Chicken Momo were the highlights of my meal, offering an explosion of flavors that I won't soon forget. The combination of excellent food, friendly service, and a welcoming ambiance make this restaurant a true gem. I highly recommend Kathmandu Kitchen to anyone seeking an authentic Nepalese...

I ordered: Malai Kofta - hottest level Butter chicken - 2nd hottest level Muglai shrimp - hottest level
Pros: they definitely get it spicy for you plentiful helping of shrimp in the muglai
Cons: -they all tasted the same. In the online the pictures, the gravies for each dish looked very unique and customized. When the dishes arrived they were nearly identical. It all tastes the same. I was very sad.
-wayyy too much cream used in the gravies. It made it way too rich and and detracted from the flavor of the fish. Normally the gravy is the best part, but I ended up picking out the meats and leaving the gravy behind.
instead of chunks of chicken, they sliced it SUPER thin. This caused the meat to be completely drowned in the gravy and you couldn't taste it. It also made it so the amount of meat in the actual dish was very scant. The butter chicken was basically all gravy. I'm annoyed. The chicken bites also had some gritty, grizzly ends that made a very unpleasant mouthful that I couldn't eat.
-malai kofta balls were decent but lacking any raisins or cashews in the actual gravy. Once again the gravy is doused with so much cream it was unpleasant.
-where were the mushrooms in the muglai dish?
Summary:
In the words of Destiny's Child: "You got me sayin': no, no, no ,no, no..."
I don't know if I've ever ordered an Indian meal where I wasn't excited for 2nds, but I'm not excited for seconds. With high food costs and delivery fees, it just wasn't worth it.
Tip: I'd recommend getting VERY contrasting dishes in order to insure you don't end up with 3...
Read moreStopped in for lunch based on the reviews. First, I dont really like to make bad reviews especially in this climate. It's tough out there for restaurants and small businesses. I get that. But I also want to give an honest account of my experience. I walked in at 12:30pm on a weekday and there were only 2 other people eating there. That should have been my first red flag. I sat down the service was fine but I just want to make clear this place has lunch hours (11:30-2:00pm I think) but there is no lunch buffet or lunch specials or lunch menu. It is the regular evening entree menu ...meaning, get ready for an expensive lunch. I ordered the Butter chicken with regular naan (after tip it was nearly $30!). The food was okay. The butter chicken gravy was spiced well and tasted good (thus the 2 stars) but the chicken was clearly leftover chicken pulled off the bones of tandoori drumsticks. It was not the thick chucks of white meat or even thigh chicken you are used to getting with Butter chicken in the area. It also tasted at least one day old. Not bad, just not fresh. The naan was also undercooked and doughy. The rice was rice. It was fine. I also wanted to make note that I saw a person that worked there sneeze and rub their nose with their hands a couple of times without washing their hands. And they were stacking glassware at the time. The mens bathroom was also not very clean. Again, I'm sorry about the negative review but for a $25-30 lunch I thought some honest feedback was warranted. I will not go back for lunch. Maybe I would try another dish for dinner. Hope you find this...
