Almost every time I shop here, there's a problem, but this order has been a Monty Python skit. If I actually still needed the items, it would be really frustrating.
In general, the staff is friendly but it takes forever to check out and there's one lane open, maybe 2, and like 5 other staff wandering around the store, weird? There's usually as many people in line as there are in the store. The items are fun and interesting, but very pricey.
This most recent order: 1.) I call to try to place an order by phone real quick for pick up (bc sleeping car babies), no go. Odd but ok, not everyone has systems for phone, but small, low volume stores I would think would? Lady on the phone said tops 2 hours for an online order to come to them and she'd fill it when she saw it. 2.) Order never ends up showing up as ready for pick up, so I went in 24 hrs later to just buy normally. Two of the 3 items I ordered werent on the shelf (out of stock), so I grab the 3rd item and go to checkout. Really long and slow single line, many other staff walking around. 3.) I ask one of the walking around staff about my online order. She says my card was declined. Ok, no notification during check out? No email notification after? Really? I ask to cancel the order and just leave wo checking out, bc the line is too slow. 4.) I get an email several days later saying my entire order is ready for pick up (the order I asked to have cancelled, and didn't change anything about my payment method). 5.) Later the same day I get an email saying 2 of my items have been cancelled from my order bc they're out of stock (🙄). 6.) I've been getting reminder emails to pick up my one item on my order, so I try to submit feedback and let them know I'm not picking the order up. The online form has maybe 30 characters available for the message, so yeah nevermind. 7.) I guess eventually the order will time out and be refunded, lol 2 weeks after the event I needed the items for (birthday presents).
So yeah, not really worth the hassle of shopping there if ANYONE else carries the item you're looking for. I've had issues w using discount codes online, using giftcards and merchant credits for online orders, stuff being out of stock but no accurate way to check the online before going to the...
Read moreI actually initially visited this store looking for an item but was never acknowledged when I went here so I decided to purchase from the Poyner place location. Unfortunately the Poyner place location was out of stock when I did my online pick up order, so I called here to see if the item was still in stock before I sent the order through. I mentioned to the woman, who said her name was Chris, that I had been in a couple days ago and saw some, after she did check. She proceeded to get loud with me before I could even finish my sentence and tell me in a condescending tone, “See them where?!? Oh you just saw the floor model and I can’t sell you my floor model so you did not see any in here!!! SO IM CONFUSED AS TO WHY YOU’RE EVEN SAYING YOU SAW SOME!” Not sure why this was even a response because I was simply wanting to know, since I just saw some, when would the next shipment be, assuming they would not deliver some again so soon. (May have helped to let me finish speaking, Chris) When I addressed her attitude she then proceeded to talk in a sing-y song voice saying “Oh, I’m fiiiiiine, I don’t have an attituuuude, I’m sorry that you feel that way ma’am” And tell me “They have 2 in the warehouse, just order it online.” Very condescending….. It’s truly disgusting and downright sad because it’s literally FREE to be kind and what do you expect working in this environment? For someone not to ask you questions, Chris???? I needed help. And I could understand if I did something to prompt this sort of behavior but asking a question about an item in “your store” Chris, is something one should expect...
Read moreI really like their selection, especially the international food and drink. We've never had a problem there until recently. We bought two bags of cookies in early December, opened them on Christmas, discovered they were stale and went to return them with the receipt on the 30th. We were told that the store manager doesn't allow food returns. But half the store is food? Also, the website AND receipt both state that World Market allows returns within 60 days with a receipt...I don't understand. I think we're going to have to find a different international store, this whole thing just feels icky, if customers are expected to follow the rules, why isn't the store following its own rules? We just had something like 5 cashiers and a shift supervisor staring at us saying they couldn't help us while we were standing there awkwardly with our receipt and stale...
