Ethan Allen — Local services in Cary

I have had a really excellent experience so far with Ethan Allen. We recently moved to a new home and our furniture didn’t work well in the new spaces. Sharon Gatt, a designer from Ethan Allen in Cary, came to our house. I decided to start with just asking her about window treatments in my master bedroom and furniture for our living room. Sharon took the time to understand our style and our objectives, and measure all the spaces. She immediately had great ideas on what would work best in the space given our traditional taste. She was never pushy and I felt I could object to any ideas she had and that she was glad I gave my opinion. After Sharon’s home visit, I was able to meet with Sharon in the showroom and review fabrics and see the furniture and accessories that she was suggesting. Then Sharon created a printed out floor plan that showed how all the pieces we chose would look in the living room— this was very helpful to me since I’m not great at visualizing how it would all come together. We were so happy with how the living room came together that we asked Sharon for help with 4 other rooms- our kitchen, dining, library, and media room! We love that since Ethan Allen has elegant pieces as well as more casual pieces plus thousands of fabrics —we could use the same designer for our whole house. I moved from Brooklyn, NY in March of 2018. I moved with my original Ethan Allen furniture which I selected with the help of their NYC designer 18 years ago. I spent months hunting for furniture and untold hours this time until finally I said: Are you crazy, Woman- go to Ethan Allen and just look! Allie Jensen met me and understood my effort to use most of my existing Ethan Allen. I went from a 800 sq’ Brooklyn home to a 1,600 sq’ one so I had big pieces to buy to fill in all that wonderful new space. Allie came to my home and at our next appointment she showed me the layouts which she had created. Not only did she suggest wall paint colors but also the refinisher and upholsterer to revamp my NY pieces. She helped pick the stains and fabrics for my NY pieces. Similar to my Brooklyn home, I receive sooooooo many compliments on the furniture choices and particularly the paint colors. This is so important I have found. You can have beautiful furniture but if your walls are blah-the effect is diminished. Now everything flows beautifully, I am settled and thrilled.
