The volume was so loud I couldn't even get through the first 20 minutes of the movie. All three people I was with agreed with me on this and we decided to leave. We approached the guest services desk explained to the kid working that the volume was incredibly loud, we weren't able to enjoy the movie, handed our ticket stubs as proof of payment and to show that we weren't even 20 minutes in and asked for a refund. He offered to have them decrease the volume and I pointed out that by this time we've already missed 10 to 15 minutes of the movie and also, that the movie theater experience was already pretty much ruined so we just wanted to get back our money and retire to our hotel rooms. He then tells me that they don't "do refunds" but he can give us a gift card. Then when we explained we were only passing through the kid continues to argue with us stating that there are Harkins all over the country. I further explained to him that the nearest Harkins from where we live is almost an hour drive and there are many other theatres closer. So, no. No I don't want a gift card (that I will probably never use) I simply want the refund on my debit card. Simple. We ultimately had to ask politely to speak with a manager or supervisor of some sort at which point we were then promptly refunded. Shame it took so much work and patience on our end. It really soured the...
Read moreWe hadn't been to a movie in quite a while, decided to go see the Elvis movie Monday night. We went inside to get our tickets and the associate asked if we belonged to Harkins Rewards. He explained it very fast and we said if it's free go ahead. Well, the first computer wasn't working, so we went to the next computer. He kept asking for our name so I put my credit card down so he could read it. Finally, he said we can do it at home. Train your employees. The movie came with a ticket for a hotdog or small popcorn. We asked if we could upgrade it and the associate stated no, what a waste. So we got the extra large popcorn and loyalty cups. The associate was the slowest and the line was too long, should have gotten some help. The refills used to be $1, now they are $3! We I went to get my refill of popcorn, the associate asked for my phone number, I said why do you need my phone number. He said only reward members get a free refill! Luckily my wife's phone number worked. The theater didn't have the reclining seats, so I was disappointed. Overall, I give them a 3-. The movie came to $30.00 for 2 adults. If I pay $11 for a popcorn, it should get a free refill no...
Read moreI love the thearter, but the patrons that come to the movies to sit and play with their Cell Phones is so anoying. I ask myself why pay 8$ to see a movie ,then sit there and make phone calls, text and play games on their phones.if I had my way, phones would be CHECKED at Guest Services, then pick it up after the movie. When I say something to someone who is doing this in the movie, they look at me like I have three heads. Then they continue with the phone activity.I do have to say the managment has some share in this .movie goers are ASKED to text venders at the request of managment. They are also asked to TURN OFF phones when movie starts. They rarley comply with that request. So as a result of that activity I just don't frequent the movies like I used too.Too many Rude people...
