Ran in to see if the store had artificial flowers, but was abruptly halted because I have a back carrying purse ( it's normal purse size). Demanded that I leave my PURSE at the counter. I stated that it is my purse and has my money, cards, and valuables in it. Was told to take those things out and carry them. Um, if I wanted to carry those items in my hands, then there would be no need for a purse. One of the employees was going to show me where the flowers were, so I responded, " If she's walking with me, what's the problem?" Then was told I could put my purse in my car and come back in. Um, yes, that is a very safe place! Hubby had the keys and was in the man store next door. Needless to say, you have lost my business. I marched myself right on over to The Dollar Tree and filled up 4 bags full of artificial flowers, along with some other items I wasn't originally looking for. And, guess what?!?! I paid for each and every one of them. How dare you for assuming that I was going to steal your USED items. And, I don't want to hear "it's the store policy,". It's a purse!!!!! And no, most retailers DO NOT force a customer to leave purses and/or bags at the front desk - that is a lie. With stores closing left and right due to on-line shopping, coupled with the ability to sell one's own items easily via a plethora of internet options, one might seriously consider the perception of how a potential customer is treated. If I were a thief, I sure as heck wouldn't take someone else's throw aways. Good riddance. Lol regarding your response!!! I would not expect any other reply than for you to state that my PURSE was equivalent to a school backpack. It is 12" long and 7 3/4" wide, made of quality leather, and also has a shoulder strap. Hmm, the standard size of a kid's backpack is 22" x 14" - that's quite a difference. But, that's okay - you don't need to express meaningless apologies. And, I want to thank you for being transparent to others with your sarcasm. Reviews are important to a successful business, and your consistent condescending attitude in others reviews represents your appreciation of...
Read moreFirst and foremost: Your responses to reviews here are appalling. If there was an issue with a guest, that information does not need to be publicly shared in your response for the sake of trying to shame or humiliate them. Several responses to people leaving low ratings have been condescending (including the response to this very review) and only make it easier to believe the concerns from guests about being mistreated in your stores.
Comically overpriced for a thrift store -- and apparently this concern means I was simply shopping in the wrong section, lol. Yikes. Dropped to 1* now.
When a skirt that retails for $25 new is still $12 used, and books are largely separately priced at $5+ (found a series, all three were $6, they retail for $10 brand new at most bookstores/big box stores), it's hard to take the prices seriously. I used to frequent this store when it first opened, but prices have steadily risen over the years. Guests shouldn't have to depend on the half-off color of the week in order for a used item to be a reasonable price. The boutique department mentioned in their reply is even more laughable. Just last week I saw several bags, all very clearly used of course, on sale for $50+, when they only retail for maybe $80 brand new. These are used, worn, sometimes damaged items. They shouldn't be priced as though they were simply on the sale rack at the original retailer...
Read moreEntire place has no air conditioning to save money, everything inside has a moldy wet musty smell. We shopped for an hour only to be told when checking out the color discount only applies to clothes, yet the large hanging signs donât make any clear indication. Employee and manager were quite rude during the entire experience. They even removed brand new tags from our merchandise.
2.14.2025 Response to Owner: Your own staff even mentioned the air conditioning is always off. We visited end of the day, so your store closing early is not true. Saving money on HVAC causes the entire store to be a health hazard with the dampness. Many reviews have said the same thing, hopefully squeezing profits is not the priority over peopleâs health. Everything in the store has an odor and a bad smell. The huge signs stating color discounts is false advertising, nowhere does it say clothes only. Again, this has been brought to ownershipâs attention in other posted reviews, but your policy to sweat shoppers and deceive on pricing is still on-going. Leaving the front door open does not provide enough air for the store. No wonder the workers are disgruntled when engaging...
