5-below is awesome if you want some cheap stuff for slightly below average prices, an assortment of candy and/or seasonal decorations. I was able to find really good deals on a cat bed and scratching post at $5.00 each. A similar but slightly larger version of each at Walmart was in the $30 range.
The clerk at this particular store was nowhere to be found when I was ready to checkout and it didn’t have the self-service registers than some 5-below stores offer. The clerk eventually saw me and meandered up to the register to help me. He certainly didn’t seem thrilled to be working that day or maybe that’s just his less-than-enthusiastic approach to customers.
Overall, 5-below is worth a trip to see if you need...

When I asked the store (attendant?) if the (plainly visible) cash register was open, she said "no". America has detention camps filled with Mexican children in cages because people are afraid of them "taking jobs"... stop adding to the problem. Enough with the vending machine economy. Employ human beings and support the economy that puts money in the pockets of your consumers. In short... Open a damn...
Read moreOverall, I like the Five Below stores a lot. However, I feel that the cash out part is confusing and frustrating. It appears to be self service but when you try to step to a register a clerk directs you and in my case today, had me stand in line for her register when there were several registers open where I could have checked myself out with cash more quickly, instead of waiting. It made me wonder if the clerks get commission if they have the most customers at their register...
