That was an absolutely obnoxious experience. I used to visit here once a week, every Friday. I decide to switch it up and get a taco salad tonight . With steak, I'm told $3 extra ..no problem. I ask for no beans extra cheese with tomatoes . I also tip over 20% for a take out order When it comes out it's a mountain of lettuce. They take the word salad LITERALLY. .it's got like 3 pieces of steak...a smidgen of cheese and tomatos . I only say something when warranted so I say something to the lady..initially (indy) looks at me like pobricto awww when I say my complaint and that I probably won't be back . I show the monstrosity to my server who offers me a replacement because obviously this is a mess I was served . So the woman comes out (the original one I complained to indie or indy was her name who for the rest of our interaction was acting passive agressive) out with a menu saying is there something else I want since the meat is portioned (which was a ridiculous amount for an $16.95 taco salad if this really is the case). So I settle for 3 steak tacos with a side of hot sauce. She brings out the tacos (with an attitude cold as ice) without the sauce. I ask for the sauce . She said the other waitress would bring it out . 20 minutes later I leave, not having ate the tacos because no hot sauce ever came. And for everything I wanted after I complained this woman indy wanted to make a hassle for me clearly.
It was absolutely an obnoxious experience. That's how a regular customer is treated? It gets a 2 for food cause when its made right it tastes pretty good. But the treatment I just received is obnoxious. These people do not deserve your money. They don't care if you are a repeat customer or how much you spend in their restaurant They do not want to provide you a good dining experience or give you value for your money
The view if my tacos (uneaten becuase hot sauce never came out and I was tired of making a fuss and the clearly didnt care about my happiness). Plus I was thinking they could have done something gross to the replacement . It Is a shame cause the replacement tacos really looked good and I wanted to eat them. But served ice cold, without sauce, extra attitude
They can keep them. And if they do rebuttal this I just want you to think, what would it benefit me to lie about this experience? So you know...
Read moreWe were out New Year's eve day & decided to stop in after hearing about them on Next Door Neighborhood.
They are located in an older small strip mall on the edge of maitland & Winter Park. Should be a great location, but unfortunately nothing has lived long in this spot, even with good food like Santa Rosa.
The negatives are minor: The salsa is traditional & ok, but it has too much liquid for my taste. This makes it difficult to keep any on your chip. It can be thicker without being chunky. There are some minor maintenance issues that need to be addressed (light sconce not attached properly, ceiling tiles need replacing) The staff is sweet, but not all speak English as a primary language. This may lead to an incorrect order or some feeling that a server isn't being attentive.
The positives are most important: The food is really good! I had the all-u-can eat street tacos, the carne asada, the pastore & the chorizo. The amount of meat in each was amazing compared to other chain Mexican restaurants. Plus the meat was perfectly seasoned, which is rare, as most restaurants are afraid to season their dishes due to so many people's palettes being on the bland side. My wife had the chicken enchiladas & she was full after eating 2 of her 3. While most chains fill you up on the rice & beans, they fill you up on the main dish. Based on quality & quantity their prices are fair, especially compared to larger chains. The staff is very sweet & make you feel welcome.
I recommend them & hope they do well in...
Read moreStopped into Santa Rosa Mexican Restaurant today. On the corner of 436 & Howell Branch Rd. We were greeted immediately and told we could choose our seats. It was pretty empty. She took our drink order & quickly returned with drinks as well as chips and salsa. They were great, the salsa has some heat! 🔥 Got the lunch special for $8, which included 2 crispy tacos, refried beans and rice. Also ordered a shredded chicken chimichanga. Everything was delicious. The gals waiting the tables were super nice, talkative, friendly and didn't mind explaining some menu items. The restaurant was impeccably clean. Total for the 2 dishes and a Corona was $23. Well worth it! I stopped by because I didn't know it was there, but saw a post from the owner on my home community page, welcoming new guests because they had just moved locations. They're hard to see from the road, but are in the same plaza as Big Lots, Harbor Freight and Dollar Tree, but off to the side. Give them a shot. Everything was fresh and delicious, served quickly and with a smile. Wait staff is masked. Their cleanliness blew...
