I took my Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G here on December 18th for issues with constant rebooting at 2 minute intervals. Maddison was my technician. We knew that my device would have to be factory reset and insisted that there was a new SD card with nothing on it if a backup was possible. She assured me that she would do everything she could to backup and restore over 10k photos on my device before factory resetting. She called about 30 minutes later saying it was done and everything was backed up and restored and that my phone was in working condition. Of course I had to go through the initial setup again..so I'm almost home and while everything else was restored, I realized that none of my photos or videos were restored. Return to UBreakIFix and ask what happened and she runs to the back with my phone and comes back a few minutes later and says that Samsung Smart Switch was running a system maintenance at the time and my phone just didn't restore properly. Should be all good. After doing this another 2-3 times, and receiving someone else's restore on my phone, she then tells me that Smart Switch is trying to restore this UBreakIFix locations most recent backup onto my phone and there may be nothing she can do right now. She is going to get in touch with Samsung, wait until Monday and give me a call back. Never hear from her on Monday so give her a call, basically nothing they can do and she will call again in a couple days to see what she can do. Never calls. Return to the location on Friday and she doesn't have the decency to speak to me in person but through her colleague saying there is nothing that can be done. I can be understanding if she made a mistake and wiped everything off of my phone, she shouldn't have avoided the situation and just owned up to her mistake. She has no right working in a position where she can make this mistake again and cause emotional distress to another. I had pictures of my dead grandmother that I can never get back, pictures of pets that I will never see again, and much more all because of her negligence. She lacks the professionalism and care that her technician position requires. I will not be returning to any UBreakIFix for anything because of this situation.
If you value any of your photos and videos saved on your device and fear that you may never see them again, do not allow Maddison to be your technician and perform a factory reset on your phone. This was the equivalent of a house fire for me as I value photos more than anything. And now I have none. EDIT I also had 10 years worth of backed up Genealogy files that are now missing from my Google backup and my Samsung Backup. Please explain this???? My phone was set to auto backup to Google & Samsung every day while in idle, so where is all of my missing data? Samsung, Google, and UBreakIFix have zero answers for me. DriveSavers Data Recovery could have done something for me IF the first resort of every phone technician wasn't factory reset. But a factory reset completely erased all of my data, so thanks Maddison for fixing my phone but I rather have all of my photos and records that can't be replaced. What are you going to do to fix your mistake?? Assume no responsibility, I presume? Even though I paid for no services and saw no contract stating that UBreakIFix is not liable for any data lost due to...
Read more2/23/2022 update- still an ongoing nightmare, between UbreakIfix by Assurion corporate is just like the store in never returning calls, making promises that are never kept, etc.
Was told I should be receiving a check in the mail, but still nothing; as well as no manager call backs either, I feel bad for the customer service reps who are the only ones answering and are available to talk.
1/24/2022 update- do yourself a favor and go to the Parker location if you have to visit a UbreakIfix.
After going back and forth with Assurion "escalation group," they first told that this location should have immediately replaced my phone, not kept trying to fix it. Did that happen? Nope. After sitting with a non-functioning phone for months I had to get rid of it to get one that worked.
I've asked for a refund on what I paid for the battery replacement, but nothing from anyone.
Hours long hold times, no returned calls, what UbreakIfix and Assurion excel at is collecting your money and not being there for the customer. I regret not going to the other two places here that specialize in repairs.
I took my Android device here in late July to have a simple battery replacement done. Was told about 2-3 hours and they'd call me. No phone calls but 5 hours later at closing was told it was ready. Show up and told it was $300 instead of $85. The flustered girl said "yeah you wanted the screen replaced right?" I said no, only the battery, my screen was perfect. W was told I'd need to bring my phone back the next day then to have the screen taken off and the original put back on. While standing there also noticed the finger print reader was no longer working as that is how I unlock the phone and access most apps that require passwords.
Next day took it back in and dropped off, was told would be called when ready and they would test the finger print sensor.
No calls, but 4 hours later I call, and the tech said he didn't have to touch the screen because my original was cracked and destroyed. However come up there and test the finger print sensor as there were multiple pinched wires. Went and tested, no luck. So they ordered a new sensor. At this time also discovered that the speaker and charging port didn't work. :( So would test that when the finger print sensor came in. I had to go out of town for two weeks, I could charge it wirelessly.
During this time the phone started overheating and shutting down, lovely.
Returned on August 11th and new finger print sensor installed, still doesn't work. But the speakers were fixed, wires were undone or something. Charging port was half fixed, as long as the charging cable was plugged in one way, the phone would charge, but headphones never worked again. They did a hard reset and from August 11th until recently I was locked out of everything related to my Google account and my phone. Lost my cell service because the only way to manage the service was via the app and it was biometric locked.
Was told sorry, just try and Google to fix the phone, they don't know what to do.
Seriously?!?! You guys broke my phone! I know it was an older phone, it still did receive Google updates, but it was mine, paid for, the least you could have done was issued me a refund, the best you could have done is replaced the phone for me. But after multiple follow up calls,...
Read moreChoosing the right store to repair my iPhone was one of the most crucial decisions I’ve had to make. There was no room for trial and error. My iPhone wasn’t working properly and barely charging. I was set to leave for the Virgin Islands and wouldn’t be back for another three weeks. Because of my situation I needed someone I could trust. I needed someone attentive and meticulous. I needed someone that would brilliantly and relentlessly take care of the problems and bring my phone back to life. I needed Dylan ! He gave me piece of mind from the start and was just as passionate about the outcome as I was. Ubreakifix was the help I needed when I needed it most. Dylan, Madison and the team (providing calls and messages of details and newest information) treated me like family, kept me informed and were completely trustworthy, courteous, kind and professional throughout the entire process. This ubreakifix store was in a great location and their prices were very reasonable. I would recommend this store to anyone who is looking to get their phone serviced, repaired or just to see the wide selection of products and accessories they have available to you. Dylan, you and your team are hero’s to me and I appreciate all that you did. I’d stand with you in any arena and know that I made the...
