Dutch Bros Coffee — Restaurant in Castroville

The service at this location is the worst I’ve ever received at a Dutch. My sister drove through the drive thru to order for herself. There was a long line, so to attempt to simplify things - I placed an app order to pay for my own drink and my daughter’s. We get to the window and I see my drink ready, but the woman at the window starts saying due to the app order ETA, we would need to park and walk up to the window. As she’s speaking, my sisters drink is ready and placed right next to her. It’s 100 degree weather and our drinks are melting before our eyes as she refuses to give them to us (we asked) and says to make it “easier for US” to park and walk up in 8 minutes to grab all 3 drinks at the same time. I’m in the passenger seat, angry at this point. My sister parks and I get out immediately and walk up. From the point of pulling away from the drive-thru window to getting to the walk-up window was 45 seconds max. There was no line at the walk-up window, and I’m immediately handed all 3 drinks. There was ZERO purpose of sending us away to let our drinks melt for 8 minutes. Absolutely crap service. Customer service is all about SERVICE. Wow! Terrible experience. Just came through the drive thru and one of their employees drove through the drive through, got out of her vehicle several cars back from the window to stand at the window with the workers as she danced and played with her hair. Not kidding, her back side half way into the car that was sitting at the window. This held up the line for about ten minutes and was completely unnecessary. When we finally pulled up to the window, we had to repeat our order several times because the barista was too busy paying attention to her friend who had finally left the drive thru and walked up to the other side.

We were excited about this Dutch opening but wow, train your staff better on how they should behave on and off the clock when they visit the establishment. The line shouldn’t have been held up by a kid wanting to dance and twirl her hair in front of her coworkers. Avoid the mess at this place and try visiting the local coffee truck across the street at the HEB...

Every time I pull up to Dutch Bros, I know I’m in for a good time, but Reagan takes the whole experience to the next level. Not only does she whip up the perfect drink every time (seriously, it’s like she reads minds), but her energy is unmatched. Whether it’s early morning or late afternoon, she greets you with the biggest smile, genuine conversation, and vibes that instantly brighten your day.

She’s the kind of broista who remembers your name, your order, and somehow even what you were up to last week. That kind of personal connection? Rare and so appreciated. Dutch Bros is already amazing with its fun atmosphere and killer drinks, but Reagan makes it feel like home.
